The Kokkada Vaidyanatheshwara Temple is a beautiful temple located in the small village of Kokkada in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. It is one of the most popular temples in the region, attracting devotees from all over the state and beyond. The temple isa famous pilgrimage in South India and is one among the Pancha linga sthalas (places). Lord Shiva is worshipped here and it is believed that the one who takes the darshan of his five Lingas will be forgiven of all their sins. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it is believed to have been built over a thousand years ago. The word*"Vaidya"* means the doctor or healer and as the name suggests the temple is also famous for its unique and powerful healing powers. It is believed that the Lord Vaidyanatheshwara can cure various ailments and diseases, and devotees come to the temple seeking his blessings for good health and well-being. The temple also has a special chamber where medicinal herbs are stored; devotees who are suffering from health problems can take these herbs and receive the blessings of the Lord for good health.

The temple is located in a small town called Kokkada. The temple is under construction but the vibes here are great. The satisfaction and peace in this temple is unmatchable. It is believed that if you pray with all your heart to Lord Vaidyanatheshwara, he will solve all your diseases in life. There is a small parking space outside the temple and there is no dedicated footwear stand. You can buy seva tickets right outside the temple. The main highlight of this temple is that if you walk for a few metres, there is a bridge constructed that leads to the Kalyani where you can go visit another temple that houses a well. The water from this well is believed to be spiritual and disease healing. People bring their water cans to fill up water from this well and the priest showers you with a bit of water during your visit. It was a delightful experience altogether. The only downside is that the bridge is fragile and in order to get on the bridge, you have to get down a steep decline with no support. This might be challenging for senior citizens and differently abled people

A less known and historic temple of Shri Vaidyanatheshwara. Renovation of this temple is going on nowadays. A historic pushkarni in the premises have holy water in it which contains medical properties able to cure many diseases. Watching Sanctum Santorum of Shri Vaidyanatheshwara in its original form and experiencing coolness around it in the scorching afternoon is mesmerizing and something that couldn't be forgotten.
