I visited her on 29-Dec-2024. No proper signs to this place, google maps helps to lead you to the place. No proper maintenance at all. There is a huge lake in which you can find lots and lots of birds. To watch them you need to climb this watch tower. Good thing is they provide you with a powerful Nikon binocular one for each group. No parking space. No entry ticket. Since it’s a huge lake villagers do wash their clothes and vehicles in the same lake.

Nice place for locals but definitely not the place to go there if you have to travel. The place has pathway to walk along the lake for some distance. The maintenance or hygiene is extremely bad. The lake is clean but pathway is full of weeds and fodder. There is no place for sitting like park benches. Overall this place can be avoided

Magadikere is famous for bar headed geese.. located at magadi village close to Gadag Bangalore Highway.. You can locate thousands of bar headed geese in December to February... Many other birds also come here.. like ruddushel duck spoon billed etc.. There is watch tower and forest guards also present here.. The very sad part is that villagers use the surrounding of this lake as toilet including ladies.. We reached here early morning 6.30,and struggled lot because of this issue..

Should reach here by 8.0 clock and wait till 10 especially in North east part of lake,then you will be able to see the beautiful landing of thousands of barheaded geese in...
