Mydala kere is a lake in tumkur which is a perfect weekend evening location to vibe with family.

It’s located near mandaragiri jain temple.

They have constructed new road which leads up to the lake from the mandaragiri mountain temple.

They charge an amount of 10₹ for entry to the mandaragiri hill as well as the lake altogether.

There is a road which takes you up till the temple on the hill,if not one can take steps to the temple up on the mountain.

The lake is huge and is well maintained.

Kids can play around in the water.

It has rocks around for people to sit and relax.

There is a way from lake to the another point where there is a motor house which was priorly open to public, but recently it has been closed.

One can take a long walk all the way up to the other point enjoying the greenery and mountain views...

This is a very nice, pristine lake located amidst hills away from highway. The last km to the lake can only be accessed on bike or foot; your car has to be left on the main road. There's much to walk around with your camera and food and explore the beautiful surroundings. Three adjacent hillocks can be hiked with plenty of time at your disposal. That would give peace, and more bite for your pictures...A bit away are two larger hills - Ramadevara Betta near Kyatsandra and Sri Yoganarasimha temple hill off Narasipura; I have pictured them both here along with my review. Spend peaceful time here amidst greenery and serenity. Water in the lake has depleted as the monsoon this year so far hasn't been kind to this area (It's already mid Aug'2020).... certainly the lake would look more beautiful when has copious...

Around 60 kms from bangalore. First you will find Thirtankar statue, peacock mandir( A place basically meant for meditation ) And then you have to walk around 400 plus steps uphill to reach Mandaragiri Hill or Basadi betta. There is a jain temple here which you can visit You can enjoy the beautiful wind and spend some quality time here sitting on the rocks

Then you need to walk around 500 to 600 mts to reach Mydala lake. Very peaceful and a huge lake , you can get into water and spend some time here

Most of the people will end their journey here...I recommend to travel even more further after the lake for around 750 mts to 1km where you will find a beautiful small place where you can sit and enjoy the lake view.

Plan to visit...

Scenic and pleasant place to relax and enjoy the morning and evening breeze. Sitting beside this secluded lake is a bliss. Going early is a boon considering there won't be anyone around and even otherwise considerably low crowd. The route is best for 2 wheelers and for cars/suvs with good ground clearance. If raining or rained recently, please avoid taking your car as it can stuck in the mud if you don't have 4 wheel drive. Also it's pure one-way and it's luck if you find vehicle coming from other way. As there are very few points where 2 cars can pass you might end up reversing for a long way. Please look at the video at link attached for a better view of the route. It's very scenic and good to drive.
