Awesome place. Good to spend during sunset. The view of sunset is superb here. There is a big rock which we can climb and witness the Gods beautiful creation - THE SUNSET. I think looking at reviews before there was boating but now it is stopped. (Don't know what might be the reason). There is a long stretch with good pavement for people to walk, jog but the path is very narrow and conjusted. There is a small gate which gives way to reach the water. People who want to play in water (wet legs, wash face) can go here. Swimming I think it's not allowed here. As the name says it's "Rangarayana Doddi Lake" not a pool!! With safety guards. There are various unexplored paths to reach the hill top. If a person reach this place by 3 then can spend good time till the sunset (plan if climbing till peak, as it's gets dark... Paths will be become invisible). This is not known by many people hence the place is clean. Littering, throwing wastes is prohibited Though it is not mentioned please follow whoever comes here. Sunset will be marvelous. The rock is so steep once you climb to a small extent you can sleep and see the sunset happening. Beautiful location. There is no dedicated Parking. One has to park vehicle beside the road... And again it depends on your talent...
Read moreIt was a very nice place, the dam was very beautiful. From Ramnagar station it takes just 15-20 minute by auto rickshaw. The auto rickshaw will demand just 80-100 Rs. and obviously that is negotiable. You will also get the Uber option but I advise not to wait, you can easilt get auto outside of the station. When we reached the lake, it was written on a board about boating, but in the lake the boating was discontinued may be for some particular concern. Easy to climb on the rock, nice place for outing but not for whole day, 4 hours will be enough. Kindly carry water with you when you decide to climb up. While returning from there if you are lucky enough, you may get an auto to the station, as more people would go by auto. Else you could keep the mobile number of the auto driver who...
Read moreCalm weekend getaway from Bangalore. It is close to Ramanagara town but the accessibility is not good owing to poor condition of road. It is really peaceful to sit on the rock and watch the sun go down the horizon. We enjoyed walking along the pathway on the edge of the lake while sinking in the calm breeze from the lake on side and farmlands on the other side. Though we didn't climb the rocky hills many visitors climbed further on top, for what is in all likelihood a better viewpoint for watching sunset. Should keep in mind that there are no shops or eateries closeby for water bottles or snacks. Except for a churmuri/bhel puri cart vendor at the entrance/bottom of steps. Overall a good...
