Shanti falls-ಶಾಂತಿ ಜಲಪಾತ Distance (From Kemmanagundi): 4 Kms Trip Duration (Including Travel): 2-3 Hours Place Location: On The Way To Z-point Transportation Options: Walk/Trek Travel Tips: None At a distance of 4 km from Kemmangundi & 66 km from Chikmagalur, Shanti Falls is a small and beautiful water fall situated on the way to Z Point in Kemmangundi. It is one of the popular tourist places to visit in Kemmanagundi.

Shanti Falls is a refreshing sight that awaits visitors on their trek to Z Point in the lush green forest stretch of Kemmangundi. The water flows all the way from top of the hill, creating a spectacular view while falling into the valley below. The waterfall cascades down to create a natural pool that is believed to have remarkable medicinal qualities. The most interesting fact about this waterfall is that its water remains extremely cold even during the hot summer months. Visitors can enjoy a swim in the cool waters of the Shanti Falls.

This is one of the trekking trails in Kemmangundi. The route all the way is very scenic with deep valleys on one side and hills cover on the other. This place can be reached by trekking through the forest from Kemmanagundi Raj Bhavan (2 kms) or Kemmanagundi center (4 kms). The trek can be continued till Z-point which is further 1 km from Shanti Falls. The trek is relatively easy and can be easily done.

The best time to visit Shanti Falls is during the early winter season or the late monsoon season. It is ideal to visit the waterfall between 6 am to 6 pm, when there is ample daylight...

Shanti Falls is a serene and refreshing stop along the Z Point trek near Kemmangundi in Chikkamagaluru. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this small waterfall offers a tranquil ambiance, making it an ideal spot to pause and rejuvenate during your hike. The cool, clear waters provide a soothing experience, especially after the initial leg of the trek.

Located approximately midway through the 3 km trek to Z Point, Shanti Falls is easily accessible and does not require an entry fee. The trail leading to the falls is relatively easy, but it becomes steeper and more challenging beyond this point, with narrow paths and no railings, demanding careful footing.

Tips for Visitors: • Best Time to Visit: Post-monsoon months (September to November) offer the most pleasant weather and vibrant surroundings. • Footwear: Wear sturdy trekking shoes with good grip, as the trail beyond Shanti Falls can be slippery and steep. • Essentials: Carry water, snacks, and sun protection. There are no shops along the trail. • Safety: Be cautious of leeches during the monsoon season; carrying salt can be helpful.

Shanti Falls not only provides a refreshing break but also sets the tone for the more adventurous part of the trek leading up to Z Point, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the...

You need to trek from Z point entrance gate for about 30 minutes. The road is little wide in the beginning but it gets narrow as you move towards Shanti falls. Be cautious about leaches or snakes on the way. We came across a small snake on our way back. Some bikes are seen going till Shanti falls. However, all bikes need to stop about 100 meters from Shanti falls as the path gets too narrow. The waterfall is small and beautiful. You may proceed to further in the trek towards Z point. However, note that the pathway is very narrow. If you are not comfortable going towards z point you can turn back. But if you trek a half km from Shanti falls, you still get some beautiful sunset views.
