Sri ThimmaRaya Swamy temple at BettaDasanaPura is one such shrine in Electronic City Bangalore, which possesses invaluable wealth of natural and architectural splendor of enormous significance. It is on small hillock in Bettadasanapura village, on the way to Beguru on Koppa Road. This is an ancient village which has developed along with adjoining city, witnessing unimaginable rush of vehicles. All round the temple there will be high traffic throughout the day because of its important link connecting Electronic City with Bannergatta Road. The temple is on a low lying hill but greenery is a rare thing to be seen here. Fortunately for devotees like me {bare-foot walkers} it is not steep but sloppy that is convenient and easy to walk. There is a road upto the temple. A tiny pillared mantapa is seen in front of the temple. The temple structure appears to be of recent origin compared to the fort around it. The legendary story is that sage Gouthama Maharshi meditated on this hill thousands of years ago. Lord Vishnu being pleased appeared along with His consorts Goddess Lakshmi and Padmavathi and blessed him. That incident motivated him to bring up the temple in the name of Lord Thimmarayaswamy. I have visited another small shrine dedicated to Lord Kashi Vishwanathaswamy adjoining this temple. In both these shrines the idols are beautiful, attractive and charming. I have been regular visited to this temple since my childhood days and I love to see them again and again. Must visit this place
