Very good temple. It took around 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the temple from Bangalore on a normal car drive. The roads throughout are really well maintained. Ghati Subrahmanya is located in a quiet and scenic location. Once we enter the place all the shopkeepers will give us instruction to park the car in the place they recommend in return for us buying something from them. We can ignore those requests and keep going down the road where on the left side there is a proper parking area for buses and cars without any charge.
Enroute to temple from parking area the shopkeepers will keep telling us to buy some or the other pooja items. One can buy pooja items wherever they feel fit. Also for slippers there is a dedicated shoe stand just beside temple, so we need not leave it in some far away shop and walk in the hot road.
For those who plan to give mudi kanike (mande, mottai) there is dedicated facility built by the temple itself where they charge ₹20 and the person who is cutting the hair won’t demand any money unlike in other temples. The facility also has bathrooms with supply of both hot and cold water. Post tonsure some shopkeepers will force us to do pooja in small temple, it’s up to one’s own discretion to do so.
When we to go to the main temple in the entrance itself we can feel the power of god and how old the temple is. Due to COVID there is not much crowd. Dharma dharishana queue is relatively small distance round only. As we progress through the queue there are places to break the coconut and hand over other pooja items.
When we enter sanctum sanctorum those who come to the temple for the first time will be in awe of the deity!!! Lord Subrahmanya in the front and Lord Narasimhaswamy in the back of the same idol, we will be yearning for more eyes to grasp the whole divinity. The power felt in that place is huge and humbling. We get enough time to do the dharshan, the priests don’t rush us to away. Big thanks to them. Once we come out of the dharshan we can get temple prasashams kept on the left side shops.
Once we exit the temple we directly land in mantapa (open complex) for Anna Dhana, where they serve food for all the devotees. The food is really good and the mantapa is neatly maintained.
One should be cautious about monkeys surrounding the mantapa, they target people with open bags rather than people with food. The monkeys look for something to drink or bananas. Though there are temple workers to shoo away the monkeys it’s quite impossible for them to be everywhere in that huge mantapa. No need to panic just being cautious should be good enough.
There are public paid toilets beside the temple and the car parking area.
In overall Ghati Subrahmanya is a very good temple to visit and get soaked in the divinity of Subrahmanya Swamy and Narasimha Swamy 🙏
Note: There is NO restriction for children to enter the temple due...

Read moreThe Ghati Subramanya Temple, located near Doddaballapura in Karnataka, is a sacred and serene destination that holds a special place in the hearts of many devotees. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the temple offers a visually delightful journey to those who visit. The scenic surroundings add to the spiritual ambiance, making the visit an uplifting and peaceful experience.
One of the most unique aspects of the temple is the presence of two prime deities—Lord Karthikeya and Lord Narasimha—enshrined together. This combination is rare and adds a distinct charm to the temple. Devotees often find solace and divine connection in the serene atmosphere of the temple. The special rituals performed here, including the Brahmarathotsava and Narasimha Jayanti, draw large crowds and offer a rich cultural experience. The temple also hosts an annual cattle fair in December, which attracts farmers and visitors, adding to the temple's lively and vibrant atmosphere.
Despite its many positives, the temple does have a few areas that could be improved. The temple can become quite crowded, especially during weekends and festivals, which might detract from the peaceful experience some visitors seek. Additionally, the parking area near the temple is not very well organized, leading to challenges in finding a spot. Some visitors also feel that the commercial activities around the temple can somewhat diminish the spiritual ambiance.
Overall, the Ghati Subramanya Temple is a must-visit for those looking for a unique and divine experience. The blend of serene surroundings, unique deities, and rich rituals make it a special destination for spiritual seekers and tourists alike....
