She is depicted with an extended tongue similar to that of Goddess Kali The religious significance of this place is quite strong as it is believed that Goddess Sati's right foot fell here during Lord Shiva's dance of cosmic destruction. The temple consists of a square type sanctum of the typical Bengali-hut style construction with a conical dome. The story of the seven sisters and their brother has been a popular folklore in Hindu mythology. The concept is known in varied forms across South India. In Goa, it exists in the tale of the sisters — Kelbai, Mahamaya, Lairai, Mirabai (or Milagres), Morjai, Sheetalai, Adadeepa — and their brother Khetoba. Timings: 07-30 am to 2 pm and 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm · Address: Uthanahalli,...
