We went to Sirimane falls on 13th Nov 2022..this review is written by Mishti Sanghani 10yrs old Open Learner I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's the best waterfall I've been to in my entire life. At the entrance, there's a parking and food canteens, along with a entry ticket booth. Once you get a ticket, you can go in. There are some 50 steps, and you reach a sort of a balcony, where you get a view of the water fall. Coming down, you literally can enter the water and go under the waterfall. Honestly, it's not as scary as it sounds. Its a ticklish plus massaging feeling. And of course, the water is cold. Its a weird and crazy feeling. Try it. Trust me, you will love it. Wookay, back to the waterfall. Like I said, you can enter the water and feel the water fall, which is.. Umm, I would like to describe the waterfall using 5 words as cloudy, misty, frothy, big, cold. Now it's up to you if you wanna go or not, but last and not least, if you are not wearing the type of clothes you wear to get wet, its ok. You can change!! Yes, you guessed it, there is a changing room near the waterfall. Very handy too. Now, set with your gear? You can dive straight into the water. If it weren't for, well, 2 reasons. Number 1 - The water is quite shallow and could on reach to your ankles Number 2 - there are many big rocks jutting out and if you jump you might "break a leg" And anyway, walking in is fine. It's better, in fact. But lets not get into opinions. I'm just saying it's awesome, very well maintained, a lot of fun, not too many steps, good road (which is one of the things we were struggling with, for other places) and as a whole I would rate it - 9 out of ten, because everything can improve.. And there were a lottttt of people. That was one thing that's annoying.

Sirimane Waterfalls is one of the many waterfalls in Karnataka. It's a small waterfall of about 30 feet but very beautiful. It is said that the best time to visit is after the monsoon season. We visited in late December and there was plenty of water flowing. It wasn't very cold and was crowded. We drove here from Sringeri via Kigga. The road after Kigga was very bad, uphill and narrow. It's hard to get cell phone reception on the road. We saw some monkeys on the way. There is free parking space near the entrance to the falls. There are lots of shops and a toilet near the parking space. The entrance staircase to the waterfalls is located next to the ticket counter near the parking. The entry fee is Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children. There's no fee for children younger than 6 years. After climbing down the staircase, you'll see the beautiful waterfalls. You'll see a lot of people going into the water and standing below the waterfalls. There is a ladies changing room near the falls. The rocks are a bit sharp and slippery in some places so watch your step. The way back is the same as the way in. The steps are a bit high so climbing up might be difficult for elderly people. You can expect to spend about 1 hour at this place.

One of the beautiful water falls near Sringeri amidst the western ghats. The tourism department has done a great job by laying fresh roads and providing changing room facilities and viewpoints at the falls for the development works they have done Govt is charging 50rs for an adult which is very much justified. . Sirimane Falls is located at a distance of 5 km from Kigga near Sringeri, a popular pilgrim center. Nearest Airport is Mangalore and nearest Railway stations are Udupi (96 KM) and Shimoga (114 KM). Kigga, a small village which houses the beautiful waterfalls is about 10 km from Sringeri. Water from the falls feeds coffee estates and paddy fields downstream. A moderate entry fee is collected to maintain the walkways and viewpoints. The money collected also supports a small hydraulic power plant which is built adjacent to falls which lights Kigga houses. The entire activity is controlled and maintained by local bodies. . Imp instructions:- . 1. U can’t swim here this is more like view point 2. Food facilities are there. 3. Don’t try to climb the falls . 4. Water is very cold and very clean ❤️ 5. Well maintained and there is changing rooms as well .
