Bheemeshwara is a place located in malenadu(typically malenadu nothing but place full of western ghats, that almost covers all the regions of western ghats or sahyadri mountains).In order to get to bheemeshwara you should travel through kargal which is 34km from sagara. There are alternate ways to reach there, one from sagara-kargal-bheemeshwara(route1) and the other one would be from sagara-joga-gerusoppa-honnavara-bhatkal-bheemshwara(route2).But the second route is going to cause you some extra miles, but the plus point is you can visit as many places in route2.It depends on you. But i would suggest you the route 1 as it is nearer. Around 68km from sagara only. If you are coming through bangalore it may be calculated as 400-450km approximately. Though it seems very long fro bangalorians , you won’t be disappointed after reaching the place. A peace full place where you wont get any disturbance at all.

The moment you reach the stone steps you can feel cool breeze of water fall hitting your face. The falls and temple are adjescent here. The view here can make the poet inside you come alive. Mainly the name bheemeshwara means bheema+eeshwara, bheema one of the pandavas and neelkant, shiva the holy god. As the story says, the pandavas during theie ajnatavasa bhima established the shiva linga, to honor this deed , a temple was built her for his name which is why its called bheemshwara. The extraordinary waterfall formed when arjuna used his arrow to extract water from the rocks and its situated just next to the temple.
As i have said earlier, you can alternate route which is through kargal-bhatkal road, around 5km approx. When the tar road ends at some particular point you have to walk through the mud road inside the forest and which takes you to the paved stone steps. Serenity and calmness are the main reason which makes you stay there as long as you can feel it deeper and deeper.If you are here some fresh air or tired of daily day living , this would be the best place to relax your body or soul, or what you've been searching for. Meditation may come handy here .As there are not disturbances here, the weather cooler and calmer than you could imagine, the viwe point at the temple, everything makes you perfect, without any bizzare.
Food facilities are not available here, although the care taker of the temple may provide you meals for a cost of 80rs.There is feature of ready foods here.. you have to wait some time after giving order.Water may be the only source, until and unless you bring some food with you.
