A spiritual place. Located within 100 k.m. from Bangalore, situated in Bangalore -Chintaamani Road. Birth place of Shree Yoginareyana Yathindra, Spiritual Guru well known as "Kaiwara Thathaiah". He wrote 'Kalagnaana' more than 100 years back and it is said all his predictions are coming true. It is believed that he had mentioned about a person like Modi will rule the country in his Kalagnaana. Thahaiah's Gavi (cave) is located very close to Kaiwara where Thathaiah meditated and got 'Divya Gnaana'. Stones became candy sugar (kallu sakkare) in the hands of Thathaiah. There is Amaranareyana Temple here which is said to be installed by Lord Devendra. This place is mentioned in Ramayana when Lord Rama , Seetha and Lakshmana visited this place during vanavaasa and Seetha was thirsty and asked for water. Lakshmana got water for Seetha Maatha on a top of hill by planting his Arrow into the earth. Even now one can find water there in all seasons which is called as "Lakshmana Theertha". In Mahabaratha, it is said that Bheema killed Bakaasura on this same hill and he has installed Eshware temple and it is known as Beemalingeshwara temple. Earlier this place was known as "Eka chakrapura".

The poet Saint Narayanappa (1730-1840 AD), also known as Yogi Nareyana, as Kaiwara Narayana Thata (ನಾರಾಯಣ ತಾತ) in Kannada and as Narayana Thatayya in Telugu, meditated in a cave in Kaiwara. Narayanappa prophesied and composed poems in praise of Amara Narayanaswamy, an incarnation of Vishnu, in both Kannada and Telugu.
Kaivara Tatayya, also known as Kaivara Narayanappa, was an outstanding saint-poet of Karnataka in the 18th Century AD. His utterances known as kalajnana contain predictions on future. Kaivara Narayanappa was a rare yogi who attained self realization through the surrender to God. He followed the path of dharma and preached equality, compassion, kindness and spirituality. He lived for 110 years

The temple complex is well maintained and other than main shrine, there is a mantap where Carnatic singers perform for a couple of hours. The temple complex is close by Maha Vishnu temple. When returning from Kaiwara, on the way till Chintamani, especially on weekends, one can find nearby farmers selling fresh vegetables and fruits straight from their farm lands at rates you generally don't see in the city..Overall Kaiwara and nearby Kailasagiri hill temple make for a nice one day trip...
