Nice spiritual place located in amidst western ghats. very serene and silent place. only sound is that of the small river which originates in front of Ganapathy IDOL.The place was located in mother nature . one can find extreme peace in this lord ganesha temple.. in this temple a perennial waterflow which emerges in front of idol of lord ganesha..extremely clear and pure water .in this place we felt more positive energy. Aprox 5km from Koppa town.its a place Origin of River Brahmi .water starts from lord Ganesha foot .U can go by Car or Bike or tempo traveller .We can enjoy the beauty of Nature .

Felt blessed by seeing the born of bhrami river .What a serene place. This temple is unique one in Karnataka where water flows in front of the deity forming the source of a river it is said. It will help to understand the value of water and why religious people hold rivers as sacred. The next generation will understand the importance of water. It is said bathing in these waters here in the temple will get rid of shani dosha

I experienced great miracle here which cannot be expressed in words. Very very refreshing place in the midst of the jungle. In this place all the basic facilities are available, plz( tourist) don't use plastic coz people here don't have any waste management facilities...So keep the place clean.

Kamandala Ganapathi Temple is precisely located on Siddaramata Road in Kesave village of Koppa taluk (4kms from Koppa bus stand). The iconic temple have great historical significance, being lesser known though. Lord Ganesha is the holy deity of the temple which is an extremely historic temple known for its power. It is said that anybody simply visiting the temple or performing seva’s or meditation to this Kamandala Ganapathi at the temple is said to have all their desires fulfilled at once.

Kamandala Ganapathi is famous for its ‘Kamandala Tirtha’ which is a mysterious, unending, constantly flowing water reservoir. It is nothing but the origin of the Brahmi river right in front of the sacred Lord Ganesha idol. The reservoir is considered to be extremely holy and hence the temple is named after the ‘Kamandala Teertha’ as ‘Kamandala Ganapathi Temple’. Anybody taking a dip in the same is said to be relieved mainly overcome ‘Shani Dosha’.

Sacredly enforced by Goddess Parvathi! As per mythology, Lord Ganesha idol in the temple was established by Goddess Parvathidevi which is an extremely pleasing idol. Lord Ganesha in the temple is sitting in a position called ‘Sukhasana’. With one hand holding ‘Modaka’ and the other hand depicting ‘Abhayahasta’. The temple is an extremely holy one as Lord Ganesha fulfills the desires of everybody who visits the temple.

Kamandala Ganapathi Temple is a solution to people enduring ‘Shani Dosha’. And, a boon to all, especially students. Who find difficulties excelling in studies, or who constantly face failures in academic aspects; as Lord Ganapathi is ‘Vidya Ganapathi’ the giver of knowledge. The temple was the only resolution to Goddess Parvathi’s ‘Shani dosha’. Hence the temple has remained highly significant as a great solution to people enduring ‘Shani dosha’ who come from across the country to have their dosha’s resolved.

The name Brahmin coming from the reason that is

Kamandala Teertha is nothing but the place of origin of River Brahmi which is right at the feet of Lord Ganesha. It is extremely holy because it is not just a river but a river created by Lord Brahma himself. Let’s look into its beautiful story. When Lord Parvathi came here to offer her prayers to Lord Ganesha in regards to her tapas, lord Brahma was pleased by her decision. Hence Lord Brahma comes down personally and blesses her by sprinkling holy water from his sacred ‘Kamandala’(holy pot). This holy water emerged as the divine Brahmi river which we see in front of Ganesha idol. Since it is created by Lord Brahma, it is called Brahmi river. originate the word as Kamandala Teertha It sprinkles from Lord Brahma’s Kamandala and as it emerges and flows to a pond in the shape of Kamandala,...

From Udupi, It took us 3 hours to reach. The road was mostly hood and since it was mid September, the weather too was pleasant with overcast skies and occasional showers.

The temple itself is small and has lost its old world charm due to renovation using cement concrete and paint.

The vegetation around is still quite dense with ancient tall trees but it may not last long.

Parts of the vegetation just adjoining the temple premises has been recently cleared for a motorable road that probably leads to some upcoming resort or tourism project.

The highlight of the place is the continuous flow of cold water from an underground source that has been channeled to an open pool-like structure where one could bathe/wash under its steady fall.

From there on the water goes down a gully in the hill into the wilderness around.

When i visited, there were a few cows just outside the entrance who seemed familiar with the place and were being fed and worshipped by fellow visitors.

With fresh cowdung littered around the entrance, one had to step gingerly to remove the footwear and enter the temple premises, especially as there had been a light drizzle of rain in the...

Sri Kamandala Ganapati Temple is a serene and spiritually enriching destination, located about 4 kilometers from Koppa and around 30 kilometers from the sacred town of Sringeri. Nestled in the peaceful greenery of the Western Ghats, this temple offers a truly calming experience for devotees and visitors alike. The temple is open daily from 7:30 AM to 12:00 noon. One of the main highlights is the Maha Abhisheka, which takes place from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Witnessing this sacred ritual is a soul-soothing experience and is highly recommended for anyone visiting during that time. A unique feature of this temple is the holy bath (snana) that devotees can take at the site, adding to the spiritual purity and traditional practices observed here. The entire area is extremely clean, well-maintained, and tranquil, making it an ideal place for meditation, prayer, and quiet reflection. Whether you’re on a pilgrimage or simply looking to immerse yourself in a peaceful environment, Sri Kamandala Ganapati Temple is a hidden gem worth visiting. The divine atmosphere, natural surroundings, and well-preserved sanctity make it a truly special place.
