This is one of the main beaches of Mangalore. What I like most is that it is not much crowded and is very clean. There are 2 ways to reach this serene beach. One is through ferry crossing backwaters and other one is long route by road. I took ferry from Sultan jetty point and enjoyed crossing the Mangalore backwaters. From the other point, it a small walk to reach the beach which is worthwhile. You must go before sunset to enjoy the mesmerising view and experience the beautiful sky. The ferry ticket one way is 15 rupees.

Well, not bad at all.. Honestly.. I Don't know if, take your drinks and be at the beach scene works there? Like In goa, as long as you stay out of other people's business and don't get involved in crazy staff. It's not that crowded however not bad at all.. There is a surfing point plus people swim. No beach restaurants I went to. Just a walk by the beach.. I Had a good evening.. Benches are there to sit... Small gazebo type shades made for heat I assume. I did not step in the water.. There is a horse for a ride... Please please please it's for kids.. Look at the size of that horse, feel sorry for it you large people. POV Adults need to go to a horse club for horse riding and pictures, it's only for kids.

Tannirbhavi Beach, nestled along the western coast of India, is a serene haven that captivates visitors with its golden sands and the rhythmic melody of the Arabian Sea. My recent visit during the International Kite Festival was nothing short of magical, as the vibrant kites painted the sky in a kaleidoscope of colors, creating a picturesque backdrop against the azure waters. The beach, known for its pristine beauty, offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As I strolled along the shoreline, the salty breeze and soothing waves provided a therapeutic experience, making it an ideal retreat for nature enthusiasts and beach lovers alike. The International Kite Festival added an extra layer of excitement to my visit, turning Tannirbhavi Beach into a lively celebration. The sky adorned with kites of various shapes and sizes showcased the rich cultural diversity that this festival brings. Families, locals, and tourists gathered on the beach, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie. The Beach Festival at Tannirbhavi added to the festivities, featuring music, dance, and local cuisine. The vibrant energy of the event enhanced my overall experience, providing a perfect blend of entertainment and relaxation. The variety of stalls offering traditional crafts and delectable coastal delicacies added a delightful touch to the festivities. Looking ahead, I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming Tapasya Beach Festival. The prospect of another cultural extravaganza, coupled with the natural beauty of Tannirbhavi, is incredibly enticing. The thought of immersing myself in the vibrant festivities, enjoying live performances, and indulging in local flavors makes me anticipate this event with great enthusiasm. In conclusion, Tannirbhavi Beach stands as a gem on the coastal landscape, offering a serene escape and hosting vibrant festivals that add a touch of magic to the experience. My visit during the International Kite Festival and the Beach Festival left me with cherished memories, and I eagerly look forward to the upcoming Tapasya Beach Festival for another dose of cultural celebration against the backdrop of this stunning coastal haven.

The beach is definitely one of the best beaches in Mangalore. The place has safety area, public washroom and lot of small shops for eating. They even have small cottages to make sure you enjoy the sea even in daylight. Overall a must visit place.

Beautiful sunset between 6-7 PM. Two way to reach here, ride all the way around 10kms from the main city or a very interesting way for the tourists is to go to Sulthan Battery and take a boat from there which drops one to Tannirbhavi. Many lifeguards present here too, going deep swimming is not allowed I believe, never tried. Weekends crowded, weekdays almost nobody will be there.
