Visited the falls today, a prime monsoon season (08/July/2018). Went here in 2 bikes. It was torrential downpour from start to end of the trip. Entry ticket was 20 rs/bike and additional 5 rs/person. Always keep a tab on Google maps while travelling because the falls is located on very interior area. It's easy to miss your route. One important thing for traveller's coming from siddapura is the bridge near nilo kundo village (shortest route) is collapsed. We had to take a detour which costed a lot of time. We had to go back again to siddapura - sirsi road and take left at kansur and cross the river at a bridge near hosagadde. About the falls - At the entrance of the falls, you ll find a petty shop where you can get water bottles and snacks. You need to walk for about 300 to 400 meters. The road has steep gradient. There are concrete steps laid on the side for some distance. Since it had rained heavily in previous days, the falls had reached to the maximum level. There was dense fog around the falls resulting in poor visibility. But we could hear the mighty roar of the falls from quite a distance. Once we saw the falls, it was pure bliss. You need to visit the falls during monsoon to have this amazing experience. I have attached few pics and video captured by me along with this. Hope you enjoy it 🙂
PS: I could see littering near the view point even with the presence of dustbins. Beer bottles and plastics thrown haphazardly. Please stop being such a nuisance and enjoy the nature...
Read moreWe went in a time when there was cyclone going on, so the climate was amazing. There was fog, mist and just drizzles and everything around us was lush green. During the time we went to the falls there was literally no tourists apart from our family. From the entrance gate ,till first view point you have to walk through jungle , it actually gave me feeling of walking through deep jungles of western ghats. When we reached the first view point, we couldn't see anything because of the mist, so we had to wait for some time for the mist to clear up. But from first view point only little sight of falls could be seen. So we decided to go further down to 2nd view point, again because of the mist we were happy whenever the falls would show even a little bit. Later on after nearly climbing down for 500-700 steps , we came to the final view point where you could see the falls clearly. We were wonderstruck by how huge the falls was and the sound of falls itself is a little scary as you can hear nothing and no one is around with mists and fog covering up everything. No wonder they say as beautiful as it seems western ghats is actually mysterious in its own way. Few tips --
