Amazon View Point near Manjeri, also known as Chaliyar View Point, and it was truly a refreshing and memorable experience. Located in East Chathalloor, this spot sits high atop a hill with a breathtaking view of the Chaliyar River winding through the lush green landscape very much resembling the curves of the Amazon River, which is probably how the place got its nickname.
The trek to the top is around 1.5 km and takes you through quiet rubber plantations. While it’s not too difficult, it does require a bit of stamina, especially on hot days. Good shoes and a bottle of water are a must. The trail is scenic and peaceful, but it can be slippery or narrow in a few places, especially after rain, so be careful.
Once you reach the viewpoint, the reward is totally worth the effort. The panoramic view of the valley and river below is simply stunning perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. I went early in the morning, and the sunrise painted the whole sky with golden hues. It was absolutely magical and peaceful, away from all the hustle of daily life. The cliff edges are steep and open, so it's important to be cautious, especially if you’re going with kids.
Overall, Amazon View Point is a beautiful offbeat destination, perfect for a short trek and some quiet time with nature. If you love adventure, photography, or just want to experience Malappuram's natural beauty from a new angle, this spot is...
