Aruvikuthu Waterfalls — Attraction in Kerala

Aruvikuthu is a beautiful remote waterfall located very near to thodupuzha town in Idukki district of Kerala. The waterfall still remains unnoticed by tourists since it is located away from the main traffic.

Do not follow Google Maps unless you like a bit of treking. Google Maps shows around 200m walkable distance from the main highway road. Which is recommended if you like to trek. However there is a road which is not in good condition till this spot. I highly recommend taking it

I also do not recommend visiting this place in Non Mansoon season as water is very low. But this is definitely the most recommended place during Mansoon time.

Unless you plan to spend taking a bath on an average one spend 1 hr here.

So this place can be added as a small place when you plan your trip to Illikal Kallu or Munnar from EKM. Or you can check the tourist sports list in my profile to know more places

Advice to tourist is that please do not pollute this beautiful spot. There is a lot of plastic waste accumulated in the shallows of the waterfall. 🙏

You can enjoy a nice view and sizzling waterfall with less number of people and a mind relieving atmosphere. Beware of the waterfalls, take proper precautions before you enter into falls as it is dangerous when it's raining and when water level is high.

Aruvikuthu is a nice place to hang out with friends. After travelling around 6km from Thodupuzha towards moolamattom road, you will be reached near Malankara rubber estate and there is a drinking water production company called Hill aqua. Further around 200mtrs from there, you can see a hill road on right side. There is hardly a little space for parking. Then you need to walk through a canal road around 500 meters to...

Aruvikuthu Waterfalls is located 5.4 from Thodupuzha town in Idukki Route. The stream of water flowing through Malankara estate form this waterfall. Many people living in Thodupuzha doesnt know about this place.

You can't trust google map navigation. But the place is pointed correctly. Take right from Malankara Rubber Factory, there is an auto stand(coming from Tdpa side). After 100m you could see a small bridge and a canal road(left side, road is untarred as on 30/8/2020) just before crossing the bridge . 0.8kms from this point takes you to the spot.

The place is so silent. When I went, lot of plastic bottles and wastes(foul smell too) was observed. Please maintain the virginity of this place.Three scenes of Marykkundoru Kunjadu malayalam movie was shooted here.
