Read moreFabulous experience!! For those who are really dreaming for making an attempt of difficult trek this is your place. This stretch is about a total of 12.2 kms (including Up and Down).
Trekking starts at 7.30 am and cost Rs 2350 (for 5 persons including Guide fee). It is always recommended to start the trek as early as possible to get maximum forest vibrance and chances of citing animals are more as well.
First 3 kms is mostly common terrain with medium incline and tree over and then you will reach the watch tower checkpoint. And from there you will start watching the Brahmagiri peak a very good view.
Last 3 Kms is actually covering the steep areas where there is no trees but only grass. Once you reach the top you can experience the entire area including Kerala Karnataka boarder marking of the mountain.

2300+ is the trekking cost and you will be assigned a local tour guide with you. If you are a foreign national you will need to show your passport (digital will do).
It takes around 2 1/2 to 3 hours to reach the top at normal pace. There are a lot of points where you can refill your water bottle so you can just carry a reusable bottle and refill when needed.
I didn't see any wild animals during the trek but shocking we saw an elephant and few deer near the entrance while we were waiting.
If the staff were on time and we did actually start the trek around 7.30, we would had better chance of spotting elephants or other wild animals.
