Chakki Para is a hidden gem for nature lovers and adventure seekers. If you're looking for a peaceful sunset spot with a 360-degree panoramic view, this is absolutely worth the visit. The view from the top of the rock is stunning, especially during sunset hoursâyou get an open, wide-angle view of the surrounding hills and landscape which is breathtaking.
There is a small parking area that can accommodate about 5 to 10 cars, so arriving a bit early is advisable, especially on weekends or holidays. From the parking area, youâll need to walk or climb nearly 1 kilometer to reach the top. The path is mostly natural terrain, so itâs better to wear comfortable shoes and carry some water.
Itâs an ideal place to go with family and friends if you enjoy light trekking and being surrounded by nature. However, a word of cautionâthere are no safety barriers or signboards along the way or at the top, so extra care should be taken, especially if you're going with kids or elderly people.
Overall, Chakki Para is a scenic and serene spot, great for a short adventure and memorable sunset moments. A bit of development in terms of safety would make it...
Read moreChakkippara view point has all the ingredients for a hotspot in the semi-urban Vazhakulam, which is at equal distance from Muvattupuzha and Thodupuzha, fast growing urban centres. However a bit of ground work by LSG is a must. Few of my suggestions are: 1. The road has to be extended upto the basement of the top rock and parking space has to be arranged. 2. Steps to the view point has to be constructed for safe climb and descent. 3. There are no hand rails around the rock, which is very dangerous for the visitors as they cannot estimate the extent of their footsteps to hold on safely on the round edges of the rocks. 4. Benches are to be installed for relaxation. It has fantastic views and cool wind. 5. There are no trees or shadow on the top. A small shelter may be constructed without obstruction of the views, matching with the landscape, so that incase of adverse climate people can take refuge. Since St.George Parish conducts it's annual Way of the Cross to this place, the Parish council can take the lead in establishing basic amenities at this...
Read moreThis spot was actually way better than I expected. It is a rocky hill around 100-200m above the ground. The view you can see from here is amazing at all times. It is still better to reach here either at morning or evening so that you feel to stay here for more time enjoying the cool breeze.
You need to search for Chakkippara junction in Google maps and seek the help of locals to reach this hill. There is a pineapple plantation on the way and you need to park your vehicle around there and walk to the rocky hill. It is not possible for old or weak people to go to the top of the hill where the cross is situated.
One more thing, a ride through the road below the sloppier side of the hill (Kavana-Thekkumala road) felt good or me.
Definitely worth a visit in your...
