Charpa Falls, located in Athirappilly panchayath in the Thrissur district of Kerala, is an often overlooked yet spectacular waterfall nestled between the renowned Athirappilly and Vazhachal Falls. During my recent visit in September, en route to Malakkappara and subsequently Munnar, my friend and I were captivated by the sheer beauty and tranquility of this natural wonder.

Situated conveniently close to the road, Charpa Falls offers an accessible and picturesque stopover for tourists exploring the nearby attractions. During the monsoon season, from June to August, the waterfall is at its most magnificent, with water cascading forcefully and occasionally splashing onto the road, providing a unique and exhilarating experience for visitors. Conversely, the waterfall dries up during the arid season, which underscores the importance of timing your visit to fully appreciate its splendor.

One of the most striking features of Charpa Falls is its proximity to a cliff turn, offering an exceptional vantage point from which to admire the water's descent. The waterfall then seamlessly transitions into a serene river below, creating a captivating landscape that is both dramatic and soothing. The presence of a bridge nearby enhances the viewing experience, allowing visitors to cross over and take in the fall from multiple perspectives.

The natural surroundings of Charpa Falls are simply breathtaking, with lush greenery and the gentle sound of flowing water creating a peaceful and rejuvenating ambiance. It serves as a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone seeking a moment of respite amidst the beauty of Kerala's landscape.

In conclusion, Charpa Falls is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. Whether you are on a leisurely drive or an adventurous journey through Kerala, a visit to Charpa Falls is highly recommended. It is a testament to the region's natural beauty and a must-see for anyone exploring the Athirappilly and...
