This can be a pit stop for the tourists on the way to Munnar from Kochi. The Cheeyapara Waterfalls cascades seven step rocks right from above and flows down to the forests. This place is open 24/7 and are mostly crowded with people. Popular times are on Fridays. There are many local vendors selling many items ranging from cut fruits to small toys and caps. As this is a place for photography, there are cameramen available here near this waterfall and you can take a memorable pic with your friends or family members for a certain amount of money. The cut fruits with spices is a must try. Spices withered on cut pineapples and mangoes are mouth watering. One must never miss that if you stop by this waterfall. Also there is Valara Waterfall, kilometre after this waterfall. The best time to visit this place is after the monsoon season. As there are more chances of the waterfall getting dried up after summer season. The main highlight of this place is that there are paid toilet facilities available here which are owned and managed by the forest and tourism department of Adimali. This indeed turned out to be a great facility for the people and tourists visiting the area. Apart from the scenery of waterfalls, there are a lot of variety of tall trees and plants on the other side of the waterfalls which is eye-catching and photographable too. Located on the roadside of Kochi-Madurai-Dhanushkodi Highway, this place is loved by almost everyone who visits the hill station of Munnar.

Famed as one of the best waterfalls in Munnar, Cheeyappara has been declared as an ‘Eco-tourism Destination’ in Kerala. Cheeyappara Waterfalls is even more magnificent than Valara and you can see water cascading down here over seven steps, providing a truly fantastic spectacle for you to behold! The awesome scene of white waters cascading down from the top of a peak will remain forever in your heart as one of your most precious memories. This waterfall in Kerala is a picturesque spot that is easy to reach as it is well connected to nearby cities. The surroundings of the beautiful Cheeyappara Waterfalls are a great place where you can pursue a range of activities, foremost among these being trekking. Although the road is a national highway and is smooth (NH 49), it is narrow, twisty, and curvy. Make sure you have a light meal before you drive to Munnar on these roads, to ensure a smooth experience! Kothamangalam is around 60 km from Kochi and is 80 km away from Munnar. Between Kothamangalam and the next town “Adimali”, you can experience a beautiful cool drive through a natural forest where you enjoy the waterfalls on the way to Munnar and multiple streams.
