Dharmadam Beach Park, once a haven for locals and tourists alike, now lies in a state of disrepair, its former glory overshadowed by rampant neglect. The once-thriving park now bears the scars of apathy. The walkways, once smooth and inviting, are now riddled with cracks and uneven surfaces, posing a hazard to visitors. The lush greenery that once adorned the park has been overtaken by a tangle of overgrown weeds and shrubs, obscuring the natural beauty that once drew visitors in.

The park's grounds are littered with an assortment of waste, from discarded plastic bottles and food wrappers to broken glass and debris. This unsightly accumulation of trash not only detracts from the park's aesthetic appeal but also poses a threat to wildlife and the environment.

The stagnant water bodies, once teeming with life, now stand as breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other pests. The once-crystal-clear waters are now murky and foul-smelling, a far cry from their former state.

The park's facilities, once well-maintained and functional, now lie in a state of disrepair. The restrooms are often dirty and unusable, lacking basic amenities like running water and toilet paper. The play equipment, once a source of joy for children, is now rusty and broken, posing a safety hazard.

The park's transformation from a vibrant oasis to a neglected wasteland is a testament to the lack of care and attention it has received. The authorities responsible for its upkeep have failed to fulfill their duty, leaving the park to deteriorate into a shadow of its former self.

This place has my heart ❤️ absolutely loved it.

First: Beach & Island The sunset here was nothing short of magical! Between 6:00 and 7:00 PM, the golden hour cast a breathtaking array of colors across the sky, from soft yellows to rich reds and oranges. I’ve never seen such a stunning display of changing sky colours (attached series of pictures)

The combination of the sky, beach, and sound of the waves was pure bliss. There’s also an old shipwreck that has been stuck there for years, adding a unique charm to the beach. But, be cautious not to go near it, as we were told by a local captain that there’s a 13-foot deep hole around it.

Calm and peaceful beach has very less crowd making it feel like your own private getaway.You can find lot of shells as well.

Second: Dharmadam Sea Park Nearby, there’s a lovely park with games for kids and a great ambiance for photoshoots. The tickets for kids' games are reasonably priced at ₹50, and the park is well-maintained.

Third: Dharmadam River You can also enjoy boating in the river, which costs ₹100 per person for a 10-minute ride.

The highlight of this island is where the Dharmadam River and Dharmadam Beach meet—river on the right, beach on the left.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback regarding the recent Beach Dasara event held at Dharmadom Beach.

While I commend the initiative to promote tourism in Kerala, I must express my disappointment with the event. The entry fee of ₹50 per head seems disproportionate to the overall experience provided, which did not meet expectations for a vibrant beach festival in 2024. The event felt more akin to a Theyyam performance traditionally seen in the temples of the Malabar region, rather than a unique celebration suited for a beach setting.

As a long-time resident of Kerala, I have great hope for the future of our tourism sector under your leadership. I believe there is ample opportunity to create more diverse and engaging events that highlight the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of our state, ultimately attracting a wider audience.
