I can give full rating for the people who wants a fresh Air and peaceful place..we went to this place as bike trip..The main thing here will be the early morning wave kind of Foggy and you will feel like you are in heaven..like you are in sky..

If you are planning for bike trip to here, you can go with confident. Not too much offroad..you can take scooty also in this road, so according to this you can predict about your bike..It will be offroad for 3KM so far....You can find parking kind of place under the hill, dont worry about your vehicles..it will be safe..Mainly no one will be there.. then You have to climb the hills...you can find the route as the mark of Trident...you just follow the Trident in the hills and you will reach the Top..You can find one temple at the top, then just go forward to that temple and you will find last Trident there,,,that's the SPOT all you need...

Best time : be there at the Top of the hill at 5.30 AM ( calculate time according to this..)..if you are there at the mentioned time, definitely you will see the fabulous seen over there..

FAMILY, FRIENDS, CHILDREN ALSO CAN VISIT THIS PLACE...

NOTE : As we have to climb hills, prepare for yourself according to that..You wont find any kind of shops nearby..so carry your needed things for the trip..

The persons having breathing issue , have to be careful while climbing the hills, (always carry your proper needs)

you will feel so cold if you are climbing the hills at early morning so always wear jacket...if need you can take any lights while climbing...

Dont fear about wild animals while going to this route...you wont find any dangerous animals..its totally safe ..

Thank...

It is a small temple(Lord Shiva) on top of the peak. The nearest town is elappara.

During some times in the rainy season the peak is covered with fog, and we cannot see objects beyond "10m" while standing at the top of the peak. Of course, we miss out the view, of all the hills and the Elappara town view from the top.

On the state highway from kuttikkanam to vagamon we have to take a right turn( from there approx.,13 -14km) to a small road that leads to uma maheshwara temple.

The path one km away before reaching the temple is a broken muddy, steep road.

During rainy season,Sometimes with fog, after climbing we cannot find the way back to the bottom .The Tridents("soolam") - way marker fixed on the way to the top of the peak is a life saver.

  • Those travellers travelling from kuttikanam , may take the wrong route and end up in elappara town *

It is an isolated area with no houses located within a 2 km radius. The path from the bottom to top of the peak is bit risky, the rocky path is slippery during the rainy season and it is so inclined.

While climbing , be aware of snakes near steps or bushes, sometimes snakes can be seen .

One thing I know is that the people in elappara have no knowledge of the temple. I tried asking several individuals about the way to the temple, But no one has heard about a temple named "kailasagiri Uma...

Excellent & amazing, But please read this if you plan to come here. Mind blowing view like we are standing above the clouds. But you have to reach there before around 8 am to get that. And will get a map like view of elappara and surroundings. Around 4 km road is like off-road. So you need two wheeler or 4 wheeler with high ground clearance to reach bottom side of hill. Normal cars can travel to half way. From the bottom side you can follow the tridents which leads you to the top (500 metre hill climbing and may not be suitable for elders). Another beautiful thing is the strong cold wind. This, at an altitude of 4500 feet, is the highest located shiva temple of kerala. But it is not like a normal temple. See the photos. So reaching there is little time consuming and if you not reach early you will not enjoy the place. Bring...
