Read moreKauthukapark. I have not seen anything like this before and was really curious. Our driver was leading us away from the main road and I started wondering what kind of park will be there inside and who will come there . We were greeted by veliyath varkey who told us about his passion and his project and why he was doing that. I was sceptical still. He showed us one aerial plant that was hanging in air and it's root was like a pipe drawing water from the ground. The plant itself at terrace level at the entrance. Once we went inside we were greeted by an emu who was religiously following us throughout the entire tour. Mr Varkey told us how he was trying to provide animals a close to nature habitat and none of them were caged and they were free to checkout anytime. We saw hen, pigeons , rats, guinea pig, lots of varieties of fishes, rabbits, bees, bats, bees, ducks. He showed us the record aerial plant that was supported by its own roots and how he had a limca book of record for that. He also tool us inside caves that he had inside. They were kind of damp and had few bats inside. Reminded of the batman movie where he enters a tunnel full of bats. He is trying to make his own version of noahs ark by providing these animals and birds a place. The place was strewn with dry leaves and the rain had made a mess and he remarked that no one cleans it as that would be unnatural and nature does its own job. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a very small taste of Wild especially people with kids as kids will surely love this place unlike zoo where all animals are caged. A must see place if you are in the vicinity and...
