Even now when we went to the beach the villagers staying nearby were very enthusiastic saying about the beach and tourism potential and according to them the near by "Velliyamkallu", a big rock which has got historical importance connected with the freedom fighter "Kunjali Marakkar", the Thrikkottor Perumalpuram temple, the Lokanarkavu Temple etc are to be collectivey declared as a tourism area which may attract a lot of tourists. Kolavi beach is one of the clean and beautiful beach in Kozhikode. Almost 5+ km away from National Highway. We must take a deviation after payyoli town to reach there. The road towards the beach is little narrow and is less crowded unlike the other beaches. Small parking ground is there and to reach at the spot we must walk for almost 1 km. The way to the beach is scenic with mangroves and the beautiful sea on either sides. The water is clear and the beach is clean. Definitely one of the best place to spend a morning/evening with your dear ones. Best time to visit is early morning or evening where we can enjoy the beauty of the beach. Please take care while playing in the sea. Few officials came and told us it's too dangerous because it's a meeting point of River and Sea. Tea and snacks are available in the shops nearby.
