I recently visited the Lakkam Waterfalls in Munnar, Kerala, and it was a breathtaking experience. The waterfalls are located in a picturesque valley surrounded by lush green forests and rolling hills.

As we approached the waterfalls, we could hear the roar of the water and feel the mist on our faces. The sight of the water cascading down the rocks was mesmerizing, and we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder.

The waterfalls are surrounded by a beautiful trekking trail that takes you through the forest and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We took a short trek to the top of the waterfalls, which was moderately challenging but totally worth it. The view from the top was breathtaking, and we could see the waterfalls in all their glory.

The best part about Lakkam Waterfalls is that it's not as crowded as some of the other tourist spots in Munnar, so we had a peaceful and serene experience. The waterfalls are also surrounded by a variety of flora and fauna, including several species of birds and butterflies.

The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that the facilities and amenities are limited. There are no restaurants or cafes nearby, and the trekking trail can be a bit challenging for some people.

Overall, I highly recommend Lakkam Waterfalls to anyone who loves nature, trekking, and waterfalls. It's a hidden gem in Munnar that's definitely...

Lakkam Waterfalls in Munnar is a hidden gem, especially for nature lovers. The waterfalls are surrounded by lush greenery, making them a perfect spot for relaxation. The water flows beautifully over rocky terrain, creating a picturesque setting. The fresh air and natural sounds add to the peaceful experience. The falls are easily accessible, located on the Munnar–Marayoor road. There’s an entry fee (₹50 per person when I visited). The walk from the entrance is short and manageable, but the rocks near the falls can be slippery, so wearing good footwear is advisable. I visited recently, and the flow was decent, though not as strong as during the monsoon. Monsoon months (June–September) offer a more powerful waterfall, while winter and early summer provide a gentler yet enjoyable experience. • You can step into the shallow pool area, but be careful of slippery rocks. • Ideal for photography—early mornings or late afternoons offer the best light. • It’s a peaceful location but can get a bit crowded on weekends. There are basic amenities like small shops selling snacks and tea and a small cafeteria run by forest department. It’s worth a short stop during a Munnar trip, but avoid peak crowds for a more serene experience.
