It's an old dam, there is a small park outside of the dam, In order to enter the premise you need to pay Rs. 45 we were actually two of us with a bike and i find it reasonable. Anyway bike you can park somewhere in the corner of the park or outside the gate at the entrance of dam. In between the gate and the park entrance where i paid the money found plenty of tiny homes. I've seen people are doing morning walk, cycling around the park area. There is a security outside the park. When you talk about the dam. Its a small dam, but there is nothing much special about it. Looks usual. But peaceful. I did spend around 1 hour over there.

Malankara Dam, located near Thodupuzha in Kerala, is a serene and picturesque spot perfect for a peaceful outing. The dam is surrounded by lush greenery and offers stunning views of the reservoir, making it an ideal place for nature lovers and photographers. While it is not as commercialized as other tourist spots, this adds to its charm, providing a tranquil environment away from the crowds. Visitors can enjoy boating or simply relax by the water's edge. The road leading to the dam is well-maintained, making it accessible. Overall, it's a great spot for a quiet and scenic escape.

First of all there are 2 entrances, 1st one where we can get a clear front view of the dam...no tickets 2nd one, the main entrance where there is a guard and need tickets for entry.. Ticket rates are Rs20 per head and Rs10 per vehicle... Pros: Calm and beautiful place to visit with your family.. there is a children's park.. Cons: Dam and reservoir is not that big.. Lacks a decent cafeteria.. The place have so much scope for adventurous activities but not well utilised(needs more attention from government bodies)

Dam view is beautiful as you see in the pics. There is a children's park where kids can spend time. Good for a evening trip. There are two entrance for Malankara dam. One goes directly to Dam where fee is collected. Other one leads you to a bridge where you can see the front side - shutter side of the dam. If shutter is opened, water flow will be there and its worth visit that place too. Entry fee per adult is 25/- for kids i think there is no fees.
