This temple was built centuries ago. Holy "(paripaavanam) "and holy"(parishudham)" place. The main deity of the temple is Lord Krishna. The deity is known here as Thiruvilvazhathappan. Only men can enter the sanctum sanctorum(sreekovil). Shirts are not allowed there. Wear only the mundu and go inside.There is a very high flagpole in front of the shrine. The Other main deities are Mantramoorthy, Lord Ganesh, Nagaraja, Ayyappa and Shiva. They situated near the main premises(Chuttambalam). Outside the walls of the temple, there is a shrine dedicated to the Goddess "Yakshi ". There is a very attractive and beautiful temple pond near the temple. There is an "Aanakkottil" nearby and an elephant there. The elephant is used for the temple festival at the time of ezhunnallipp to raise the deity on the elephant head . The festival is the main event of this urban area. This is an important temple under the Kerala Devaswom Board. However, the people of the place are the guardians of the temple. The temple is famous for its gopuram, long nadapanthal and compound wall. The pillars of the nalambalam are noted for sculptures.There is a temple pond in the north side of the temple. Women do not enter the nalambalam of the temple. It is said that once an ardent devotee of sreekrishna entered the nalambalam of the temple at odd hours. She was never seen after that. It is believed that she merged in the murti in the temple. After this incident women stopped entering the nalambalam.

It is believed that the vigraham in the temple was brought from Thiruvalla. It is said that Malayinkeezhu temple was earlier the keezhedam of Thiruvalla temple. Hence the deity was also earlier known as...
