Today, we visited the "Mallam Durga Parameshwari" Temple at 7:00 AM, located in "Muliyar" Village near "Bovikanam". Despite a light crowd, the serene atmosphere added to the experience. We received prasadam. The temple, with its rich heritage, is believed to be centuries old. Dedicated to Goddess Durga Parameshwari, the temple holds historical significance as it was constructed by the Karade Brahmins of Maharashtra on land donated by the Mallam Kshatriyas. A unique aspect of this temple is its daily Annadanam (food distribution), which serves devotees. On Tuesdays and Fridays, the temple sees a surge of devotees, making these days particularly vibrant. Visitors staying for the Satyanarayana Pooja should plan their return in advance, as bus services are available only between 5:40 AM and 6:30 PM. The temple’s idol is distinctively worshipped in three forms: as Shanta Durga in the morning, Swayamvara Parvati at noon, and Vana Durga at night. This reflects the temple’s deep-rooted spiritual traditions. The annual festival, held in February or March, spans seven days and attracts thousands of pilgrims, particularly women. Devotees offer prayers seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being. The temple is a prominent attraction in Kasaragod and features ample parking space, ensuring a comfortable visit for pilgrims and tourists alike. This visit was a spiritually enriching experience🙏🏻, and the temple's serene ambiance☺️ and well-maintained premises make it a must-visit destination for anyone in the region.

A very holy place for those who choose to visit this place for seeking to get relief from all supposed problems related to astrology and bad luck due to assorted types of spells etc.. This temple is set off the beaten path and would require a little patience and ingenuity to reach this place. Although connected by public transport from Kasargod new bus stand and even Karnataka RTC buses from Puttur and elsewhere, my suggestion is it is better to come by your own transport or taxi in case you turn up after about 1.30Pm or so because the temple shuts down and doesn't reopen till 6Pm by which time all transports available till then shut down. Then your have to manage to reach Bovikaan junction (3Km) from where there is a possibility of getting an ST bus to Kasaragod from where thereafter you should get a connection to probably the last bus heading to Mangalore. You could also Google for the train as there are two of them. The 1St one only if you go quickly to the stn.

Shree Durgaparameshwari ❤️ temple is located at malla, place near to paika village of kasaragod taluk. One of the beautiful temple, in the midst of dense forest! It’s a shrine of Shree Goddess Durgaparameshwari. Please do visit, please help in keep the surroundings clean! You can reach here by road from nellikatte of badiadka -kasaragod road and from bovikkana of mulleria- kasaragod road. If you take nellikatte route, you will reach paika and from there you have to take diversion. Private bus connections are present in both routes. A Karnataka ksrtc service available from puttur to malla temple. Auto rickshaw service also available from nellikatte. where it is filled with full of devotional vibes ..sitting there idle for just 10 mins makes us forget everything and refresh our mind ..sathyanarayana pooja ..Anna prashana an kalasha snana are some of the main poojas done there .🙏🙏

Malla Sri Durga Parameshwari temple is one of the famous temples in Kasaragod district of Kerala which attracts devotees from far and wide.

People in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts of Karnataka and many parts of Kerala visit Sri Malla (also called Mallam) Durga Parameshwari temple in Muliya village near Bovikana throughout the year to seek the blessings of Devi Durga Parameshwari who fulfils the various wishes of Her devotees. You can find thousands of devotees, especially women, visiting the temple on Tuesdays and Fridays that are considered auspicious for visit by them. According to legends, Sri Durga Parameshwari is the supreme goddess who had killed the demon Daruka (elsewhere Daruka is referred to as Mahishasura) who was a terror to the mankind. She had also killed two other notorious demons, Chanda and Munda, who intended to marry Her sensing her ravishing beauty, and established peace in the region.

Durga was created by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and lesser gods who gave their weapons and energy (Shakti) to Her to destroy the evil demon Mahishasura (buffalo-demon). Hence Durga is the supreme power in Hindu mythology.

The temple is situated in picturesque surroundings of hills and valleys and arecanut plantations. Devotees have to pass through a large gopuram and a wide hall (Vasudeva mantapam) before entering the inner courtyard from where devotees could have darshan of the Goddess. Facing the sanctum sanctorum are a Garudapeetha and a Dhwajasthamba.

Malla Sri Durgaparameshwari temple is more than 400 years old and was established by Karad brahmins of Maharashtra. As we enter the inner courtyard, to our left, there is a Sri Satyanarayana shrine which is not found in any other Devi temples.

On our way to Malla Sri Durga Parameshwari temple, we come across a Hanuman temple in front of which a beautiful statue of Sri Hanuman is seen. This temple was constructed 10 years ago.

The paintings on the wall displayed next to the pooja ticket issuing counter are quite attractive and pleasing to the eye. The temple is famous for annadanam and devotees are served free food after the Maha pooja in the afternoon and the...
