Located in Teekoy village on the way to Vagamon Hill Station, Marmala Waterfalls in Kottayam district is a year-round destination and calls for a little bit of trekking a rocky terrain amid the scenic village. Falling from a height of 60 metre, the waterfall is surrounded by dense forests and plantations. It is popular during monsoon season during which the waterfall will descend in all its glory and splendor.

At a distance of 9 km from Teekoy, 13 km from Erattupetta, and 20 km from Vagamon, Marmala Waterfall is a stunning waterfall situated near Teekoy in the Kottayam district of Kerala. Located on the Vagamon - Erattupetta route, it is one of the beautiful waterfalls in Kerala, and among the must include places in Vagamon Packages.

Located inside a private rubber estate, Marmala Waterfall is formed over the Meenachal River. The waterfall is about 60 meters (200 feet) in height and falling into a 12-meter deep pool. The waterfall is dangerous and not recommended for taking bath as the depth and force of the water is too high to bear. Replete with tall trees on the green-carpeted mountains, the clear cascading waters offer a sight like no other.

Slightly veiled amidst thick bushes and blue hills, the waterfall is the perfect place to get away from the hustle-bustle of the city and spend some moments of solitude to refresh and rejuvenate. Besides, the mesmerizing natural environment provides plenteous opportunities for photography enthusiasts to capture those picture-perfect moments in their cameras. The waterfalls also offer trekking opportunities.

Marmala waterfall is a bit remote from Teekoy, the nearest well-known place in the surroundings. The tourists can travel almost near to the rubber estate in a private vehicle but have to trek at least 2 km to reach the waterfalls. The trekking path is not well maintained like a famous tourist destination and the road is slippery and full of rocky obstacles. One needs to carry food and water bottles since there are no shops in the 7 km periphery.

Marmala Waterfalls

One of the best places to explore when you are passing through vagamon. This is a best place for those who like swimming in a middle of rocks and forest and adventurous trekking.. Its not a hevy level trekking.. If not much water is there you can walk through the rocks and can reach the main waterfall view.. The waterfall itself is a best view and the dence forest around it makes it more beautiful...

There is a pond like structure at the bottom of waterfalls, so there you can swim in a natural cool pool. You can see lot of digs in between when you are climbing to the main view.. You have to take care about these digs.. It may look like small digs.. But are heavily deep and are too much risky.. Never try to enter in to any of them because once you are trapped inside then you cant get back even if you knows swimming.. Families, singles, couples.. All genere can enjoy here coz this is a best place and natural visual treat for all of em.. There are lot of spaces there at banks of these marmala river that families can sit and spend some memorable time togather.

Photography lovers can also take stunning pics from here.. Because the rocks and the waterfall makes the background astonishingly stunning..

There is noo hotels or local shops or food facility available here.. Only one ice cream seller is there, you will get bottle water and varities of ice-creams from there. If you are planing to spend one day with family there better to carry foods and water.

10-15 bikes and 5-6 cars can easily park there. But normally marmala waterfall area is not rushy.. So nothing to worry about parking..

Coming to a conclusion from my experience Marmala waterfalls is a best place to explore one day with family and friends, and a sooper cool place for...

It’s just been 15 days in Kerala & there’s so much untouched beauty here. Yesterday we went to Marmala Waterfall, it’s a 45 min drive from main Vagamon market. Just before reaching the waterfall you’ll cross huge plantation of rubber and pineapple 🍍 on the way. It’s not very suggested to visit and play around the place during monsoon season, so be careful if you’re visiting in this time. Water flow is really high and everything is way more slippery than normal. But you have to visit this, it’s a beautiful experience. #vagamon #kerala #waterfall #reelkrofeelkro #reelsinstagram
