Our family of 9 members visited to Matsyafed Aqua Tourism Centre, Njarakal (Kerala) recently. They issued Boating & Food Coupon @of ₹150/- per person. Inside the boating place, we enquired about food. They asked us to pay ₹100 per head for a simple food (oonu) with fish curry plus additional charges for any other special item. The coupon issued by them does not include any food.
If one has to separately pay for food, what is the reason for mentioning FOOD COUPON. When tourists purchase coupons thinking that cost of food is included. This is incorrect and misguiding.
There are only two shaded boats available. During sunny days sailing unshaded boat is extremely difficult. One has to paddle on his own as there are no Matsyafed Paddlers.

Read moreMake sure that you call to check if there is a high tide situation or not before going there. There are chances that that the approach roads and the property itself can get inundated with water. Its an ordinary aquatourism centre. I felt Palakari at poothotta being a better managed aquatourism centre. Yet to visit malipuram. The food was good with limited fish varieties. Ambience was pleasing with few activities based on package you choose which does not include food. The money for the food need to be paid seperately. I believe it has lost its charm because of its upkeeping. Its not well maintained. Need to reinvent the place to make it buzzing if it's tourism that is...
