) Place opens at 10 a.m. and good idea to get there early to find best spots to bathe. 2) Lots of parking lots available at rs.30-40 with small restaurants selling packaged beverages including desi ones like masala butter milk. They even make omlettes and maggi too. It is not a good idea to bathe on an empty stomach because after you will really get very hungry. 3. Tickets are only for adults at rs.36 per head so ideally park closest to the ticketing office which has an India toilet too in the back which surprisingly was very clean. 4. You will need to walk for about 10 mins to reach the river flowing and then walk upwards to reach the actual falls. The main waterfalls is not ideal to bathe due to how hard the water falls from top, so we chose a place that was about 15 meters downstream with its own mini waterfalls where the water gently falls and curls from 5 to 8 feet height and after an hour, you will feel water paradise. 5. There are guards posted along the route who make sure there is decency and order, so be nice to them and help them do their jobs. Overall, this place is sheer bliss when there is enough water flowing down the river and you get to a little higher spot. Dont miss it at Wayanad. We went there in a nice sunny month so there was less water so we could not enjoy its beautiful picture. Still loved the adventurous trip there. The best time to visit this place is in the morning during the rainy months or after the rains subside.

A must visit place. There are two view points. An upper view point which involves a half a kilometre walk through some steep incline brings you close to the main fall. You can literally stand near the fall and feel the water spray. You cannot enter the water here. The lower point gives you a long distance view of the fall but you can enter the water in many areas and swim around. Its a 300 metre walk through relatively smaller incline. The area is well maintained with forest guards all around regulating the crowd. Its not a big waterfall per se but still its very beautiful to see the water cascading downstream through the rocks. There is paid parking spots on the way and free parking at the top. During December and January when the water flow weakens you can walk through the river from the lower point till the upper point.I went during the monsoons when the current was still strong. You can easily spend 3-4 hours here exploring the area. The ticket price is around rs 50 per adult

Meemutty water falls are one of the must visit place once u visit Wayanad. It would be better if you have your own vehicle for transport. It is very near to Banasura Dam, Padinjharathara, Kalpatta. The best time to visit is august-november. It would be a good option for family picnics. There are beautiful waterfalls side by side and amazing views from above. There are no much restaurants nearby. You have to reach back Padjnharathara for shops and foods. You can find little handmade gift shops from traditional sculptures and craftsmen on the way to the falls. Its very cool place to visit post monsoon. Carry towels and wear comfortable shoes and clothes. There are few tracking options for you during certain seasons. Take instructions from the security guards. Avoid plastics. There is no any special entry fee. Happy Backpacking.

At a distance of 5 km from Banasura Sagar Dam, 25 km from Kalpetta & 48 km from Sulthan Bathery, Meenmutty Waterfalls is a magnificent falls located near Banasura Sagar Dam. The upper level of the waterfall can be reached by 1.5 km trek from the entry point. It is one of the best waterfalls near Bangalore and among the best Wayanad tourist places to visit.

Cascading down through multiple tiers from a height of over 800 feet, it is a spectacular fall situated inside thick forest flowing through rocky platform. The falls has major tiers with varying height. The first tier can be reached by walking for about half km from the parking area / main entrance of the falls. The lower tier is smaller one with water collecting into a pool. The pool is safe for swimming with low depth.

The second tier can be reached by trekking up through steps built over boulders. The half km path runs along with downstream of the river and offers wonderful views of the stream and thick vegetation. The third tier is the toughest and needs some walking through the stream on slippery rocks with help of ropes. The ascend is steep at few places and this half km stretch takes about 10-15 minutes.

The peak on top of third tier offers breathtaking views of Banasura Sagar Dam and surrounding valleys. Meenmutty Falls situated amidst serene location offers wonderful experience to the visitors. This is a must visit place for everyone visiting Banasura Sagar Dam.

Road access is available up to the main entrance of the falls. There are several parking areas on the way to the falls.

Timings: 9 AM to 5 PM

Entry Fee: Rs. 30 for Adults, Rs.15 for Children, Rs. 200 for Foreigners & Rs. 75 for Still Camera
