It was so nice. I visited there during the sunset. Clear sky.., Have got one of the best sunsests ever I have had. Loved the place so much. The wind there keeps in comfort. There are mainly two ways to climb up. I would only prefer the adventurous way by climbing through the forest. It is somewhat hard to climb up. Not suggested for old ones. But we will feel that it was worthy doing so, when we reach up. One of the best hills to have in kollam, quilon. Night climbing is not preferred and I think not allowed there. But from my point of view it will be one of the beautiful place to see during the night. Climbing through the woods in not at all allowed during the night. If you are planning to visit there during sunset I will prefer you to reach there atleast 1 hour before sunset. Because the climbing takes much of the time. If the place isn't cloudy a bit, then you'll be able to see one of the best sunsets ever. The pure orange colored sun going deep down with all the sceneries you can have on the sky. It is pretty awesome. In my opinion.,...

Muttara Maruthimala

A 24 acres hilly rock, located in Veliyam grama panchayat, Maruthimala bestows one with a pleasant atmosphere with its scenic beauty and cool gentle breeze. One can also see a shrine up there along with a small pond. The temple celebrates festivals during the months of December and January.

Legend says that this hillock was formed from a portion that had fallen from the hands of Lord Maruthi (legendary figure from the epic Ramayan) while he carried the sacred mountain Rishabhadri to Lanka. Since it fell from the hands of Maruthi, the place got the name ‘Maruthimala’.

Peaceful. Best place to breath. But their are some miscreants, often you find them on booze and creating a mess.
