A Tranquil Haven of Divine Healing – Dhanvantari Temple, Wadakkanchery, Kerala State

I had visited the temple on 18.07.2025 and it was a wonderful experience. Mr Krishnan Kutty and his colleagues who are the Temple staff assisted me and explained the significance of sponsoring Chittuvilakku (lighting of lamps around the temple) and all pujas for one day in the name of our loved ones for their peace and health which was observed on 21.07.2025.

Nestled in the peaceful outskirts of Wadakkanchery, the Dhanvantari Temple is a serene and spiritually uplifting sanctuary dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari – the divine physician and incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The moment one steps into the temple precincts, a wave of calm and purity washes over the soul. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature, the temple is the perfect blend of divinity and tranquility.

Devotees come from far and wide to seek blessings for health, healing, and well-being, and many return with a sense of renewed energy and inner peace. The sanctum, adorned with traditional Kerala architecture, exudes a quiet charm, and the idol of Lord Dhanvantari radiates a divine aura that touches every heart.

It is believed that sincere prayers here bring relief from ailments and promote holistic wellness. The priests conduct the rituals with devotion and grace, adding to the sacred atmosphere of the temple.

Whether you are a spiritual seeker or someone on a wellness journey, a visit to the Dhanvantari Temple near Wadakkanchery is truly a soul-soothing experience — where faith meets healing, and where the blessings of health are gently...

Sree Dhanwanthari Temple at Nelluvai is one of the most archaic temples of Lord Dhanwanthari in India.

Situated in the Erumappetti panchayat under the Thalappilly taluk of Thrissur district, the scriptures state that the idol was installed by the Ashwani Devas and was also worshipped by Vasudeva in the Dwapara Yuga. The Oushada Prasada offered to devotees at this temple is fabled for its medicinal values. Often referred to as Mukkudi, the offering is prepared everyday under the guidance of Kuttancherry Manu Mooss, as he is the only one who knows the secret recipe of the prasadam or offering.

Dhanwanthari, believed to be the physician of the devas, is the primary deity here. Popular belief is that all sorts of ailments will be cured by worshipping Lord Dhanwanthari. Evidently, there is an inflow of a large number of devotees into the temple everyday for the...

Nelluvay Dhanvanthari temple is one of the famous and rare temples in Kerala built for Medicinal God, Dhanvanthari. The pooja performed at this temple is supposedly for good health and a prayer to recover from any illness, of visiting devotees. The temple has a clean premises inside and one can do pradakshina around the deity. There is enough car parking facility. Maha pooja is performed between 10.am to 10.30 am in the morning. The temple closes sharply by 11 am for morning darshan and reopens in the evening around 5 pm. There is Deepalankaara pooja between 6.25 pm to 6.30 pm in the evening session. The temple closes by 8pm. The typical Kerala type jaggery pongal pasadam is available for those who offer special Dhanvanthari pooja. Other sevas are also performed, lije archana etc. It is about an hour drive by car from Ottapalam. Roads are good.

Pray here for any body illness Well it's an ancient belief that praying to the Goddess here will help you with any struggles of body pain and overall health of yourself could be recovered. One of the Prasada (mukkudi) that you get here also is an ayurvedic drink that could help boost your health and immunity Now coming to the temple itself it's pretty old and the place itself is famous for the temple and its annual festival. I couldn't avoid visiting here on my recent cycling trip as its been couple of years since I visited the temple. Temple is in close proximity to the main road however away from the buzz and has a very peaceful atmosphere Lucky me I could also spot a peacock dancing on the adjacent paddy fields
