Neyyar Dam Boating — Attraction in Kerala

Memorable experience here. This is owned by Govt Authorities and hence there is no need to haggle and bargain on the pricing. Keep in mind to carry a bottle of water while you go for boating. A security guard (probably a forest officer) will accompany you in the boat, who also acts as the guide throughout your boating time. Its quite a big reservoir and there are multiple things to see. The two hours won't feel very long, though you might feel kind of tired and sapped out due to the heat and the Sun, especially after the short trek. However, it was all worth it to us. We saw many birds around. There were tens of eagles nesting and for the first time, we were able to see the kingly birds up close. The lion safari has been closed as there are no lions left unfortunately. During our short trek in one of these islands, we saw a couple of elephants in the rehabilitation center. They had been rescued. We saw a few crocodiles and many many deers. On our way, we also could see the local tribe's settlements and their place of worship. Was a good experience moving around in the neyyar dam and have a view at the lion safari park. Couldn't view any lions since it was very high temperature and humid, however the boat ride was good viewing the different hills and nearby site seeing. Don't remember the price, had booked the entire boat for three of us however dosent matter if you want to spend time in nature. It was motorized boat, adding more carbon to the environment, would have preferred to have manual driven boats for more environment...

They drop in a park we can just visit Deer rehab centre... Crocodile park... Then we I'll be dropped back to the boating centre... Water level was up.. dam shutters open...
