Banglow Hill in Nilambur is a serene retreat tucked away in the heart of a lush forest. The old wooden architecture of the bungalow. The surrounding greenery make it an ideal spot for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. However, it is disheartening to note that the authorities seem primarily focused on collecting entry fees rather than preserving the site. The lack of proper maintenance is evident, with some tourists indulging in vandalism by carving and writing on the walls. Banglow Hill deserves better care and attention. It holds cultural and architectural significance that should be safeguarded for future generations. Strict measures to prevent vandalism, regular upkeep, and awareness campaigns about its historical importance could go a long way in preserving its charm. With the right effort, this could become a shining example of heritage...

This place is a historical place. It was Old District Forest Officer's Bunglow. It is situated on the top of a hill. All we need is to take a small deviation from the Nilambur town to end up in this wild hill. This place is now much isolated and is more like a forest with varieties of flora and fauna. There is a Sky Walk attached near the Bunglow. One could climb the Sky walk from bottom to reach on the top front of bungalow or drive a car or bike to here. Since the place is isolated the villagers mainly use this place for jogging purpose. The bungalow is open from 9 am onwards and is a holiday in every Monday. The Skywalk will be a great experience as we could walk above the forest watch...

The Old DFO Bungalow in Chandakunnu, Nilambur, is a vestige of the colonial era. Once home to British forest officials, this heritage building showcases colonial-Indian architecture, primarily constructed using the renowned teak wood from the Nilambur forests. While the years have taken their toll—with signs of wear and aging visible—the Bungalow still remains a landmark. Visitors can also enjoy a Skywalk that offers elevated views on the descent. Key Information for Visitors: Tickets: Available at the entrance. Access: A steep drive leads to the Bungalow. Hours: Entry is permitted only until 5:00 PM. Parking: Available near the Bungalow.
