A Must-Visit Hilltop Temple in Pallassena

If you're looking for a unique and serene experience, the hilltop Ayyappa temple in Pallassena is a hidden gem worth visiting. Situated atop a large rock, the climb to the temple is an adventurous challenge. The path leading up is steep and requires some effort, with small steps carved into the rocks. A supporting rope helps you navigate this difficult terrain, so make sure you're prepared for a bit of a strenuous trek.

One thing to note is that the path to the temple is marred by litter, particularly plastic bottles. It's essential that visitors respect nature and refrain from leaving any waste behind, as we witnessed numerous bottles scattered along the way. Let's all make an effort to keep the environment clean.

Be sure to bring your own water, as there are no shops nearby. The hike is physically demanding, and having water on hand will make it much more comfortable.

When you finally reach the top, the small Ayyappa temple greets you with its tranquil, sacred atmosphere. The temple only opens once a year, making this a special and rare experience. The area is not crowded, which allows for a peaceful time in the company of nature. From the hilltop, you’re treated to breathtaking views of Nelliyampathi Hills and the Palakkad Gap, which are especially stunning in the evening. If you visit at sunset, you can witness a truly beautiful spectacle.

However, the terrain and the climb might not be suitable for young children, so it's best to avoid bringing them along on this trip.

In conclusion, this hilltop temple is a perfect destination for nature lovers and those seeking a quiet, off-the-beaten-path adventure. Just be prepared for the challenging hike, and be mindful of the...

Vamala Ayappa Temple is a small temple located on Vamala, which is in the Pallassena village of Palakkad. This small hillock is surrounded by beautiful paddy fields and encircled by the towering Nelliampathy hills. You can witness the beauty of Palakkad from the hilltop, and experiencing the sunset there is truly amazing. It's a great place for trekking with your friends, and the trek to the top takes about 10 minutes. While trekking is a bit risky and challenging, it's also an exhilarating experience. To reach the spot, you need to take the Pallassana bus from the stadium stand of Palakkad. You can get off either at the Poolapparambu bus stop or the Pazhayakaavu bus stop to reach the spot. From both of the above-mentioned bus stops, you need to walk around 500 meters to reach near the Vamala hill. Those with any health problems should take appropriate precautions before embarking on the trek. Vamala is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Kerala. I guarantee that you will not be...
