Peruvanmala, a natural hillock with beautiful greenery, spread over an area of almost 50 acres, is located at Thalakkottukara village near Kechery, 16km from Thrissur on the Thrissur – Kunnamkulam route… About 100m above sea level, this isolated grassland is an ideal place for nature lovers to take a break… On top of the hill there is a temple of Lord Shiva Peruvanmala Mahadeva Kshetram open from 6.30 to 8.30 am.. The whole hillock is under the administration of Cochin Devaswom board.. Considering the height of the hill from the ground, it is amazing that the temple-well is full almost every season. Vehicles will go only ½ km up to the top of the hill and then one has to walk the rest of the way, which is very slippery. It takes about ½ an hour to trek to the top. From the top, we can get an eagles eye view of Thrissur, Kunnamkulam, Guruvayoor, Wadakanchery areas. Peruvanmala is covered with green meadows and trees. One of the rarest tree, which can be found here, is the 'aalmavu', an amalgamation of a banyan, 'aal' in local dialect, and 'maavu', a mango tree. One can relax under the tree, or on the rocks at the edge of the hillock to enjoy the view and the sunset. Sunset here is spectacular. If you are lucky, you can find Peacocks, said to be common in this area. In the August- September season, bi-coloured flowering herb, Persian violets locally called Kannanthali, blooms in between the grass meadows.. This endangered medicinal herb is used in Ayurvedic medicines to treat several ailments. Peruvanmala is a hidden view point away from the hustle and bustle of city life.. It's a fine experience to walk through the mud path lined with cashew trees, sit on the rocks, feel the beautiful breeze in serene environs.. The best time to visit is in June after the first rains when the grass is greener and the breeze cooler…Peruvanmala is 3kms from Kechery (Eranellur) and 13 kms...

The climb uptop is a little challenging, as Vehicles will go only half km up to the top of the hill and then one has to walk the rest of the way, which is very slippery. It takes about half an hour to trek to the top. From the top, we can get an eagles eye view of Thrissur, Kunnamkulam, Guruvayoor, Wadakanchery areas. Best place to watch it’s worth the time you spend, I had visited there both for watching sunrise as well as sunset , The sunset is more promising to make your time worth it. The sunrise actually is also a good experience there .There is a lord SIVA temple located at its peak its a temple governed by Cochin devasom board.I used to visit there once in 1/2 months. There are two main ways to reach here . 1)For the once coming from Velur side can reach here by taking the way alongside watertank from thalakottukara 2)The other one is the main entrance from the Thrissur-kuttipuram road take deviation from Mazhuvanchery (towards left if you are from Kechery side , towards right if you are from Thrissur side) Free Advice for Girls : Avoid coming to here without any adult companion bcz the most once visiting here are males so I say so for avoid their bloodless eyes and boneless toungs firing o you Disclaimer : as my experience reminds me one thing , I remember the first time I visited here it was full of greenery and the last time about the 2weeks before I could find many devil minded once dumping the plastic things there I really feel shame...

One of the best place ... thrissur guys can visit or someone who is going through thrissur . Must visit place with friends and family.best place for your best sunsets and sunrise.. just search on Google sunset or sunrise timing and be on time or before on time 😉 to the location. The best part is it's a Hill, having a good hieght at the Top you can worship LORD SIVA at the temple.enjoy the sunsets and sunrise with holy Spirit/feeling.create your best memories with your loved ones by clicking best pictures and 🤳 selfies. Make each day a memorable experience. Enjoy your sunsets and sunrise live with your nature.. boost your immune system, energy, entertainment, etc ( visit this place Early morning or evening as I said ⛅ sunsets and sunrise you will definitely love it as we loved it). Location : very easy to reach near to kechery , best just Google it or ask someone after reaching kechery. Limitations: towards the temple or top you can't take your vehicle ...I will not perefer to .. there is a chance to spoil your mood .the road is not well maintained . Park some where near by the main entrance and walk that will be perfect 👍😊👍.
