This beach is also known as Puthenthodu Gap which was temporarily created for landing the fishing country - boats of local people many decades ago. Puthenthodu beach has a great potential for the tourism based developments. But unfortunately, the legal issues ( mainly related to C R Z - coastal regulation zone) and the lack of confidence in local - Panchayat- authority, are the main barriers of it.
