Located in the heart of Thekkumbhagom Grama Panchayat, the Temple is very famous for its very old myths and extremely peculiar rituals. The Village fair which is conducted during the month of April/May is the biggest festival in this Village. Currently the Temple is being renovated after the "accidental" fire that took place. There are so many stories and beliefs surrounding this old temple. Some even argue that the temple is centuries old. There's an extension of this temple located further to the south of the temple known as 'moolasthanam' or 'kannimoola'. According to the Beliefs, devotees much go there and worship first. Earlier, only one goddess was considered as the main deity, But after the fire incident, 2 Goddesses are going to be given equal importance. The festival in this Temple is an extremely amazing event. I really recommend everyone to attend it atleast once. A very rare ritual of worshipping human Gods is also practiced during the thalappoli day of the festival, when a small girl is considered as the goddess herself, and other girls welcome her and guide her around the Village with lamps and torches.
