Kottakkavu Mar Thoma Syro-Malabar Pilgrim Church, North Paravur is a Syro-Malabar church established in 52 AD by St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. It is the first church in India and is called an Apostolic Church credited to the Apostolate of St. Thomas who preached and also started conversion of people to Syriac Christianity here. It was part of the Ezharappallikal (seven churches) that he established in India; the other six churches were established at Kodungalloor, Kokkamangalam, Palayoor, Kollam, Niranam, and Nilackal. This one of the Church established by the apostle of Jesus. A well known pilgrim centre. The old church (3rd Church) built in early 1300 was reinstated in 21st century. July 3rd st.Thomas day celebrations are very grandly celebrated here On that day , people from all places without the barriers of caste , relegion or colour attend the feast and have "nercha sadhya" , ( which is the food given for blessing who eats it with faith ) .

This is an important historical and Christian religious site in Kerala. But neither the church nor the government tourism department is using the historical significance. The church is now part of the Muziris Heritage Tourism. This is a Roman Catholic church. The church is located close to the National Highway. It is a major tourist destination in North Paravur. The tourist facilities are excellent. The church is building more new tourist attractions. The church is very large and the architecture is amazing. Parking area, drinking water, lounge and small stall are also available here.

St. Thomas According to Christian tradition, this church was founded in 52 AD by St. Thomas (Martomasliha), one of his 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. This church is one of the first churches in India and is called the Apostolic Church in recognition of St. Thomas the Apostle who preached here and started converting people to Syriac Christianity. This is one of his Ezharapallikars (seven royal churches) that he founded in India. Six other churches were established at Kodungalur, Kokkamangalam, Palayoor, Kollam, Niranam and Nilakkal.

This one of the Church established by the apostle of Jesus. A well known pilgrim centre. The old church (3rd Church) built in early 1300 was reinstated in 21st century. There is daily adoration from 7.00am to 7.00pm in the old church.
