Thanal Eco Park Payyanur — Attraction in Kerala

Beautiful place for boating. Do not expect spacious areas for hanging out. Here the main focus is on boating activities like speed boat-400Rs, pedal boat-50rs per person for 20.minutes, kayaking-50rs per person for 20 minutes. Decent toilet facilities. Basic refreshments. Dedicated car parking can hold only 4 to 5 cars maximum. After that people park on the road side which severely hampers normal traffic on the road. Hence very strongly recommend to come here on bikes only. Morning open time is 10 AM, and no rush during this time. Only 5 minutes drive from perumba highway. The kayak boats are of better quality than seen at vayalapra floating park,chemballikund, pazhayangadi. There are no grass rest areas, or arcade games, or children play areas, or adult sports activities found at vayalapra floating park. This is a simple no frills boating focused eco park. Very nearby walking distance there is a hanging bridge between trees and also a bamboo hut like house. Which is kind of a 5 minute sight seeing area. Overall one will leave this place wanting to come again. Since it is very very close to payyanur town, it is very convenient. This eco park and vayalapra floating park can be replicated across many many many backwater like areas across payyanur, padne, trikaripur, valiyaparamba, nileshwar, kanhangad, pazhayangadi very very easily. People can spend quality time in such eco parks in a healthy manner and will very greatly contribute to local responsible tourism. There is a critical need for such parks for adults and children in Malabar area.. Especially during the current times when adults as well as children spend much of three free time in front of electronic gadgets or shopping malls...

An excellent park near Payyanur. No entry fee. Good parking facility. But the road to the park is narrow ( One car can go at a time).Toeach the park take left before the Perumba junction. The road ends in the park. Small refreshments like juices, ice cream water etc are available in the park. The best thing about this park is cayaking and boating. Pedal boats ( single and couple) and 1 speed boat is available in the park. The best time to visit the park is in the evening. There is also one bamboo tree house in the park. This place is beautiful .one of the beautiful place for relaxing in payyanur. There is river nearby it you can enjoy peddeling boat here the charge was 100 it was a Awsome experience. The small forest like environment nearby it is also a beautiful scene to watch . Most of the people coming here are couples some moral policing also happens here so it's not good place for couples eventhough you can watch most of them only in this park. You cannot enjoy and explore all the place here 100 % because most of the sitting place is occupied by couples .
