Great experience!!! This ride is in Periyar lake. They operate 5 times a day 7:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:15 AM, 1:45 PM and 3:30 PM duration is for 1.30 HRS. As per local suggestions they are recommending us to take a 7.30 AM or 3.30 PM ride to see more animals. We took a 3.30 PM ride and had luck seeing many animals like elephants, Bison, deer and many beautiful birds. They are charging 255 for adults and 85 for children, apart from this they are charging 65 for bus to boating place and reserve forest entry. This ride is good for adults and children who are having natural love, since it is a 1.5 hrs ride initially it will be interesting and after some times it may be boring to see the same geography for a long time. Visited this place on a public holiday. We reached there by 6am and took the ticket from the counter. The first boat will begin by 730 am in the morning. You can either walk about 4km to the boarding point or there is special bus service inside the forest which will take you there. The chance of spotting animals is usually high in the 1st boating compared to others. Boating takes about 1.5 hours. It's always good to choose a time where the sun is at its lowest intensity Main attraction is boating . And there is also nature walk facilities available in the forest every hour. 3 main food facilities are available inside the place and there is also a hotel available inside if you are planning to stay at night.
