THE ROCK WHERE THE PEACOCK DANCES...! Are you travelling through Kozhikode-Palakkad highway? Are you looking for a picnic spot with your children? Wanted a break from a hectic drive? Then you should definitely visit Thodukappukunnu Eco tourism site. Located adjacent to the highway, you would not find a better halting place en routè. On taking a 10 rupees entry ticket you get access to the Interpretation centre, a mini trekking to the nearby rock, and of course, fresh air. It has an Eco shop where you can buy honey, tea powder etc. It also has ample toilet facility and benches for relaxation. A 500metre trekking leads to a rock called 'Mayiladippara', which literally means the 'rock where a peacock dances' in Malayalam. It is famous among youngsters in the area. Climbing this rock offers an incredible view of the surroundings. Overall ,the place is good for family outings or for a hangout with friends. Keep in mind that travelling long distance only to visit this place is NOT worth it. But if you are passing by the route, then you should definitely pay a visit.

I recently visited Thodukappu Kunnu Eco Tourism and had a really refreshing experience. The place is surrounded by greenery, and the climb to the top is not too difficult. The entry ticket is just ₹50 per person, which is quite reasonable. One thing to keep in mind is that they only accept online payments, so make sure you have UPI or another digital option ready before you go. The highlight of the visit is definitely the view from the top. Once you reach, you get to enjoy a calm and breezy atmosphere (nalla katym undu) with a beautiful panoramic sight of the surrounding hills and greenery. It’s a great spot to just sit, relax, and breathe in some fresh air. The place feels peaceful and less crowded compared to other tourist spots, which makes it even more enjoyable. If you love nature, this is a simple but worthwhile place to visit for a short trip

Thodukapp Hill is an eco-tourist center that is easily accessible to the people of Perinthalmanna, thazhekkode, Karingallathani and Natukal. Many birds live inside this bamboo house. As there is a 2 km walk inside the forest, bring the essentials. Do not bring plastic❤️
