The Ubrangala Shree Mahadeva Parvathi Shastara Temple, famously known as the "Badagu Shabarimale," is a remarkable blend of spirituality and scenic beauty. Located in the tranquil village of Ubrangala, this temple stands gracefully in front of a gentle river, surrounded by lush paddy fields and tall arecanut plantations. Known as the "Badagu Shabarimale" due to its architectural resemblance to the famous Shabarimale temple, this site offers visitors a unique spiritual experience reminiscent of that iconic pilgrimage destination. Outside the main temple structure, there are sacred places dedicated to the protective spirits, or daivas, Naga and Dhoomavati-Guliga, which are highly revered. The Dhoomavati shrine, located about 300 meters away from the main temple, has a unique tradition: it opens only once a month on Sankramana, allowing devotees to glimpse and honor the powerful Dhoomavati daiva. Both men and women are welcome in the temple, creating an inclusive space where all devotees can participate in worship and experience the temple’s peaceful ambiance. As part of the temple’s customs, male devotees are required to remove their shirts before entering the main shrine, a sign of humility...
