Beautiful place, can see dolphins here.. South to this is azeekkal beach, Though not as famous as alleppy beach, which is approximately 45-50 km from here, this one is more beautiful than the same, this beach is less crowded, though it will be heavily crowded in holidays. Must visit if you visit oachira or nearby places. There is a beautiful stone paved road towards the sea, you can walk till the end. There are few shops nearby, where you can get coffee, tea, snacks, icecreams etc. There are some temporary shops also in the beach, where you get hot snacks and black tea. Better to visit this place in working days evening, when there will be less crowd so that you can enjoy the place better. The road toward this beach is of less traffic and in good condition. Parking is not an issue though there are enough places nearby where you can park two wheelers as well as four wheelers. This place has a geographical significance as this was the place heavily affected by 2005 Tsunami. Alappad village is also nearby which is said to be affected by the mining of sand for thorium ore. The sand her is of black in colot because of the abundance of this ore. It will be better if the government kerp this place intact, without making further constructions in the name of tourism ...
Read morets not much more visited than azheekal beach.. only less people visit this beach. Thier is beach which we can come and enjoy. Watch sunset and all. Its good and all. But the vibe that we get on azheekal is not present here. We can take our vechiles to the path leading towards the sea. Only the entrance is bit risky. Thier is a new watch tower being built here and a big bridge is being built which connects both azheekal and valiazheekal together. Once its done people coming to both these places can easily go to each of these places. Now its a 44 min drive from azheekal to reach valiazheekal.Whenever I feel low in my life , I go to Valiyazheekkal beach. There is so much positive vibe at this place. Since the construction of the bridge connecting the two districts ( Kollam and Alappuzha) are almost over , I think more people are likely to come here. India's first ever Pentagonal Light house add so much beauty to this beach.Just awesome space to spend time with friends or family and the ideal time to visit is after 4 . The beach is not that deep and black sand is the main attraction. Good place for relaxing Have a nice view Small shops are there for small bites Parking available Bus service avilable. It's a wonderful view in here...arch bridge, Pentagon light house, and harbour...
Read moreValiyazheekal is one of the best places in Kerala to spend a whole evening. The bridge across fishing harbour, visit to light house and a stroll through beach - every part of this visit is enjoyable. The light house has a lift and is well maintained. Entry fee is nominal. If you are carrying a camera, pay INR 50 and obtain a pass. Staff here are helpful and cordial. Parking is also available. However I feel that authorities should do something to prevent visitors parking on the bridge. While parked both sides become a safety concern. The bridge is walkable with excellent walkways. Visitors can park their vehicle at a designated parking space and have a stroll...
