The Dam, which impounds the largest reservoir in the state which was built under the Kallada Irrigation and Tree Crop development project. The construction of the Parappar Dam across the confluence of the Chenduruney, Kazhuthurutty and Kulathupuzha rivers has resulted in the creation of a beautiful artificial lake of about 26 Sq. Km. which spreads along the middle of the Chenduruny Wildlife sanctuary. It is the largest irrigation project in Kerala.Thenmalai is derived from Tamil word 'Then' meaning South and 'Malai' meaning Mountain. Thenmala is famous for being the shooting location for several Malayalam and Tamil movies including AdiverukalThenmala attracts foreign and domestic tourists with a host of attractions. The main milestone for Thenmala is that India's first eco tourism project was started here. The place is very quiet. Only bird chriping can be heard here. The drive to Thenmala was superb.

Butterfly Park *Palaruvi waterfalls( 18 kms frm Thenmala) This waterfalls this situated inside the reserved forest area, we need to travel some distance through moutain path to get over here. At the end i found a great waterfall in front of me, i wondered for a while after seeing that moreover i had taken a bath in extreme cold water.. ho!! chilled me alot. That was superb experiance.
