Fly Sikkim Adventure — Attraction in Lower Sichey

In simple words, I will describe my experience and it was my 1st time Paragliding in my life that too in Sikkim.

When I entered their office, they welcomed me with gentle smile which brought positive vibes in me to go ahead, to experience paragliding. Then after they cleared all my doubts in very polite manner.

They have 2 types of paragliding. One is immediate, which we can experience immediately and another one is prior booking for which we should book minimum 24 hrs before because we need flying clearance.

After filling required documentation, I have chosen immediate paragliding which will have 10 to 15 mins flying time in air that too based on our weight (they allow upto 90kgs) and another one is about 20 to 30 mins. Both have accidental insurance policy which covers in the fair which we select to fly.

They took me to the highest hill point “Ani Gumpa Premise” around 1200 feet from ground level in their car. Then after two people helped me in wearing all required things to fly along with the experienced pilot and I experienced my 1st paragliding without any fear.

They charge 500.00 INR for video recording for selfie mode with their GoPro Action Camera.

After receiving my paragliding video in my mobile, unfortunately it got deleted. So, again they shared my paragliding video to my Gmail using google drive link to download.

The paragliding team near Pelling helipad claims to be a part of the Sikkim Paragliding Association. Don't know whether it's true or not. The people over there are not at all well experienced and professional. Failed to make a safe landing. Lost balance from a height of around 5-6 meters and we (me and my pilot) had a fall on the inclination of a hill near our landing spot. Had some injuries in my backbone and neck. The pilot said it was due to some air pocket. After this incident I told them not to take off my friend, who was being ready for his flight at the launching spot, who was not aware of my accident. But even after I warned them (the message was supposed to be communicated via wireless), they tried to launch him, but failed, both he and his pilot suffered a roll over in the launching cliff.

It was a lovely experience. The staff members are pretty jolly and make you feel comfortable. They take you to a cliff in a bus from their office, and then you land near their office after paragliding. They take good care of all the safety measures. If you're traveling in off season and it's not too crowded, the whole process would take 1.5-2 hours, and they charge you only Rs. 2500. The paragliding experience is totally worth the amount.
