I am going to be completely and utterly frank: This so called, "Amusement Park" was the worst Water Park I've visited, probably, ever. Tickets are a bit expensive, 500 for Children and 800 for Adults (it was 700 previously, yet they want to fill their purses with money without fixing any of the problems, so obviously they will increase the cost, money hungry hypocrites.) Anyways, We went in, alongside around 500-600 people at around 11 in the morning. The First Thing I noticed was the Water. Dear god, the water. Highly Chlorinated, yet it was extremely dirty. Insects and Tree Seeds were flying everywhere, making an unhygienic experience. Next was the people. Ugh. The staff were extremely rude, not knowing of people's personal Boundaries (I don't want to get mansplained, thank you very much) Next, The Crowd themselves were hoarding all the Floaties and Dive Mats, which, isn't really the Management's fault but still something worrysome Next, The Problem is the walk. Most of the time, you need to walk without your slippers, notably when you're walking between the rides. The Heat absorbed by the ground essentially burned my feet, and the Management hasn't introduced anything to fix this, except for a few mats laid here and there, which does absolutely nothing to dissipate the heat. If you want to go for most rides, you'll have to walk for a long time, and run up stairs. Personally, I don't mind, but for those with Limited Mobility, it will definitely be a problem. But this was nothing compared to what happened at Noon. We enjoyed the few rides which were open before Noon, and then we went for Lunch at around 12:00 on the dot. We had to get tickets to get the food. The Crowd to get the Tickets was massive, we had to wait around 15 minutes to get the Tickets. I bought a Chicken Biryani (More Expensive than Usual, 180 rupees for a Chicken Biryani when you can get a regular Chicken Biryani for 100 rupees or even less elsewhere. But fine, they have to earn, 180 is a valid cost, I understand. When I bought the Ticket, they told me Biryani would be ready in 10 minutes or so. Fine, I can wait for 10 minutes. Or so I thought. I had to wait for more than 45 MINUTES!!!. I was told time and time again, "10 more minutes", "10 more minutes". At around 12:50 I asked the persons standing there when I could get my Biryani, and they had the Audacity to say, "Avasara Paduthaadeenga Thambi". DUDE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR JUST TO GET A DAMN CHICKEN BIRYANI. And Finally, when I got my Biryani at 1:10 (Totally, I had been waiting for 1 hour 10 minutes), It was just parcelled from an outside hotel, repackaged, and given. After all that time, all I got was a bloody mediocre Biryani with a small piece of Chicken. After that anger-provoking experience, I hoped that the Other Rides would be nice. Nope. Half the rides were very poorly built, with the crevices in between the various tubes hitting my head and my back, which was a bit painful. In one of the Floatie rides, I had gotten stuck in the middle of the ride, which is apparently a common occurrence in this Joke of an "Amusement Park". The Dry Park wasn't the Best, you can definitely get better places where you can have fun better.
Also, one thing I forgot to mention, is how the people just attempt to take our money without giving change. Like once, they attempted to take my entire 100 rupees note to buy 3 200ml Sprites (One is only 20 rupees, I believe). They steal the money, clear as day, expecting we won't notice. This is a problem Management needs to address, alongside the various issues I have noted thus far, but obviously, management is only caring about getting your money, not getting a good experience.
Overall, 0/10, Do not visit here. If you are in the region of Tamil Nadu and need a good water park, I recommend going to Coimbatore and Ooty's Black Thunder, which will be a much better experience. If you're in the location of Madurai and you need a place for a good entertainment, there are a lot of places you can go other than here. I strongly recommend...
Read moreRs.800 for the whole thing. Not Acceptable. These are the Whole thing : Park Opening time 10.30am, you are supposed to go to rain shower and swimming pool only. If you want to go for any tube rides, wait till 11.30am. At 11.30, grab a tube and start walking uphill for the ride. You are blocked by a school boy working there, he would say, "Sir, your tube has less air in it. go to the filling station to fill it". You can see people hustling for tubes. (Around 100-150 tubes available for 800 people). At 11.30, you are supposed to go to the first ride (crazy river) only and not to second one as there is no Staff for the second one until next 30 mins. Till 12.45-1.00pm there will be 5 rides available for you. (crazy river, sliding tube, slide without tube, Fast Slide, Mat Slide). Water levels are too low that during the end of ride, we are prone to getting hurt. There is no proper time gap for sending people in rides. People will be sent every 10 feet one after another without worry of landing one person on other. The water flow in Slide without tube was too low that there is lot of friction making us to stop sliding inside the ride tunnel and we have to get up, run to the end, hearing the roar of next person coming from back.
In mean time, there will be staff cleaning the upcoming (double tube slides) ride after yesterday's use, and it would begin at 1.00pm. Around 1.30pm, Everyone will be asked to go to Wave ride. Wave ride will work for approx. 20mins. Then comes the Famous Madurai Kutralam (Waterfalls). Waves are switched off and whole power supply is redirected to the Water falls. You can see 500 people moving from Wave Ride to Water falls for next 15 mins. Be smart to go for Lunch instead of Waterfalls. So that you can grab your seats at the only available place for lunch and the only available food to eat. Eat like a Race. Else you will lose waterfalls which runs for 40 mins approx. At 2.30pm starts Dry rides. Most of the dry rides hurt our Back.
Standing in a Queue Line never helps anywhere in the park. It is mandatory that you have to shout at people to respect the line. Of course its not Athisayam's fault. But athisayam's fault is that there is no Staff to manage lines, manage crowd. The staffs are very limited that they work at water rides at 11am and dry rides at 2.30pm. Staffs are not in proper clothing, they work with their home worn night dress. There are some School or College Students working as Staff.
One Star for the Ride : Rose Yellow Slide aside...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience at Athisayam Theme Park.
I recently visited Athisayam Theme Park with my family, and I must say that our overall experience was extremely disappointing. I feel it is important to share my feedback to help others make an informed decision before visiting this park.
Overcrowding and Safety Concerns: The park allowed people in four times higher than its capacity, leading to a chaotic and uncomfortable environment. The excessive crowd not only affected our enjoyment but also raised serious safety concerns. Additionally, the high chlorine content in the water was noticeable and made the water quality quite poor.
Lack of Public Announcement System: It was alarming to witness the absence of a proper public announcement system. There was a distressing incident where a child went missing from their parents, and the park had no means of announcing it to the visitors. This lack of communication and coordination is unacceptable and poses a serious risk to the safety of visitors.
Inadequate Facilities and Poor Maintenance: The change rooms were in a deplorable state, with none of the doors opening without assistance from the security personnel. This inconvenience made the experience even more frustrating. Furthermore, the park did not provide enough accessories for water rides, leading to shortages. As a result, many visitors were unable to enjoy these facilities. The canteen area also had a foul smell due to the improper disposal of chicken waste outside the compound.
Lack of Basic Amenities: The restroom facilities were substandard, lacking essential amenities such as buckets, mugs, and hangers to keep clothes. This negligence demonstrates a lack of consideration for visitors' needs and comfort.
Overall, my family and I were highly dissatisfied with our visit to Athisayam Theme Park. The combination of overcrowding, safety concerns, poor maintenance, inadequate facilities, and the absence of basic amenities made for an unpleasant experience. I would strongly advise others to reconsider visiting this park until these issues are...
