Awas beach in Alibaug is one of the most less-crowded beaches that offer absolute peace and serenity, thanks to being far away from the hassle of city life. In case you’re not a crowd fanatic and looking for a wonderful virgin destination, Awas beach is certainly the right choice for you. Though location-wise, it’s a little offbeat, you can have a soulful walk here, taking in the amazing sunset for an experience worth cherishing.

As Awas beach is still untouched by most of the recent commercialization, it’s comparatively unspoiled and thus there are no such activities or attractions that can lure visitors. Spending quality time by the shoreline of this sandy beach is what attracts visitors here. You can simply relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, especially during the sunset. You may even enjoy fresh coconut water here in the midst of your soulful beach walk. Though the white sands are ready to welcome you, you should be careful about the sharp rocks.

Awas beach is close to Kihim beach, which is a decently popular beach in Alibaug. You can enjoy different kinds of water sports like parasailing, jet ski ride etc there. Kanakeshwar Devasthan temple is another nearby attraction. This old Shiva temple is situated at the top of the hill. Though the climb could be tiring for some, you will be up for an amazing sight once you complete the trek. You can also head to Varsoli beach which is another less-crowded beach in Raigad and approximately 11 kilometers away from Awas beach.

Best time to visit Awas beach is during the winter season. From November to February, the overall temperature remains quite soothing, spanning from a minimum of 140C (approximately) to a maximum of 300C (approximately).

From Alibaug town, you need to take a cab to reach Awas beach. Pune and Mumbai are two major nearby cities of Alibaug. Closest central railway stations are at Panvel and Kosha and the nearest airports are at...

Awas Beach as you say is a hidden gem on the coast of raigad. The beach is not at all crowded. I visited the beach on Saturday. But even the Weekend the Beach was clear like only 10-15 people were there on the beach. The cleanliness of the beach excited me a lot. As You can in the video the beach is very calm and not at all surrounded by people. The stays also near the beach are high-rated. It was a very nice experience visiting the beach.

Awas Beach is a serene and picturesque coastal paradise located in Alibag, a popular beach destination in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. Situated approximately 7 kilometers from Alibag town, Awas Beach is a hidden gem known for its pristine shoreline, golden sands, and tranquil atmosphere.

One of the key attractions of Awas Beach is its relatively less crowded and unspoiled nature, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and coconut palms, adding to its natural charm and providing ample shade for visitors to unwind and bask in the serenity.

Awas Beach offers the perfect setting for long walks along the shore, where you can feel the soft sand beneath your feet and enjoy the gentle sea breeze. The tranquil waters are safe for swimming, making it a great spot for water enthusiasts.

While the beach does not have commercial activities like water sports, it is perfect for leisurely sunbathing, reading a book under the shade of trees, or simply gazing at the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea. The mesmerizing sunset views are a sight to behold, casting a golden glow over the horizon and creating a magical ambiance.

Awas Beach is a destination that invites visitors to embrace the beauty of nature and rejuvenate their senses, making it a must-visit place for travelers seeking a serene and offbeat coastal...

MUST READ BEFORE GOING. First, the beach is very near to Mandwa jetty. So it makes sense to go by ferry. It is also quite near to Alibag so driving also makes sense for those staying in suburbs or Navi Mumbai.

The Beach is nicely lined with palm trees and there are seating benches below the trees which makes the sight quite wonderful. But the beach has black sand and in the evening the water is still like 100 m away from the beach which exposes the black sand covered in seawater. It is like mud which spoils the mood and the photograph. There are also rocks in between but when I went there they were inside the water and only top of these rocks were exposed since the water wasn’t receded that far.

So if you’re looking for a perfect isolated beach, this beach is isolated but not perfect. There are couple of other beaches that I know which are isolated and perfect.

  1. There is one Beach on the Nagaon stretch. 7-8 Gallis leaving Nagaon. Even on Sundays you won’t find any crowd there. This is an extended stretch of beach and this away from Main crowd of Nagaon.
  2. Another isolated and perfect beach is Nandgaon beach. Please mind the name it is Nandgaon and not Nagaon. This beach is 5 km Before Murud Janjira Beach so it’s 1 1/2 hours drive from Alibag itself. But you can definitely get a better deal with a picturesque beach and good home stays. I had high hopes from Awas but was disappointed due to black sand.
