Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary — Attraction in Maharashtra

I visited this place in December 2022. The entry to the wildlife sanctuary is from Olvan village which is just 1 kms before the starting of Phonda Ghat. There are small homestays where you can reach the night prior and stay as it is best to start the jungle safari in early morning, may be at 5 or 5:30. The safari needs to be done only thru the authorized jeeps by paying a charge per vehicle plus entry ticket per person. This Sanctuary is very dense jungle and sometimes that makes spotting difficult. *Remember: This is not zoo. A person may end the safari without seeing any Bison. * But at the same time, you need to be equally or even more vigilant than your driver cum guide and keep your attention at all sides. I have observed the drivers are in a hurry to take you around and finish the ride quicky so that he gets the next customer. But insist the driver on going slow. When I visited, I was very demanding and the tour took more than 4 hours for me. Probe a lot and ask question so that he too will give you lot of information. Expect some other small animals like jungle hen, Indian giant squirrel etc. You can also find beautiful butterflies, flowers during the tour. As the roads are very bad, persons with motion sickness should avoid going here. Also keep in mind, do not litter, carry plastic inside. A dense forest reserved for bisons. This place opens at 6 am in the morning. The best time to start the safari is 6 am to 10 am as animals come to drink water so we can see them easily. There are shekarus in the forest which is state animal of maharashtra. We went in may still there were lush green trees. We took a jeep for 10 people which costed us ₹2000 and each persons ticket was ₹ 50 Must visit once. This forest is well resereved. There are towers on the main site points which are good photogenic and view from there is amazing. The guids are nice. they try their best so that we can see the animals. Even if we dont see any animal the road journey in the jungle is worth it. It is a 4 to 5 hrs journy so bring your own water bottle, caps, goggles,...

Points to note.

Bikes are not allowed. Entry Pass is necessary before entering into sanctuary. Its total 30-40 km area. So you've to book jeep. 1 jeep price is around 1800 Rs. You can share with other 3 people It takes 4 hour's to see sanctuary. So visiti at morning. If u r lucky you'll see animal's. But if unfortunately u cannot visit sanctury still u have lovely road. Backwater.

Second visit

Best time to visit - oct to Jan We've booked car for 6 people for 1800 Rs. And ticket 200 Rs. It took us 5 hour's. And we saw bison only. Animals are not visible on afternoon as they are resting because of heat. Morning & evening time is best. Bring your own water bottle and snacks. As journey...
